I really want to write a Harry styles fanfic as a joke... but like really over the top, Debby Ryan energy. It would be kind of fun honestly.

Also, I am Australian, which is why I write 'honour' with a 'u'.

Driving home with someone that wasn't Azula or Mai was a nice change, but a bit of an awkward one. It was only once I started the 25 minute drive that I realised I barely knew Katara, and had no idea how to make small talk with her. I tried to bring up things about schoolwork, but she didn't exactly give me responses I could answer to easily. She would just answer, but not in a way that brought up a new topic or asked anything about me.

Me: 'So, have you had any assignments lately?'

Katara: 'Yes. I've gotten straight A's so far.'

Me: 'That's cool. So... what's your favourite subject?'

Katara: 'I like them all, but mainly history of the nations.'

And it just went in like that, with me asking all the questions and her responding in short sentences. I swear my back started aching from carrying the conversation. Luckily, once we pulled up at the palace, she started to get more talkative. I don't know if she was nervous before or what, but I'm glad she's talking now. I started to give her a tour of the royal wing if the place, where the bedrooms and offices are.

'And this is my room.' I stated as we walked by the large doors. Her eyes widened when I opened them, and she said 'You have all this space?'

I laughed. 'I mean, I am the prince. It does make sense, you know?' She looked a bit embarrassed, muttering 'Right, of course.' Under her breath. I continued with my speech.

'I also have an office, where we can do the tutoring sessions. We should go there now, I can't keep you here to late.' I lead her out of my room and down the hall, through another even more impressive set of doors, and into the office quarters.

Walking past my families workspaces, I headed to the door with my name and title on it. 'Ok, here we are.' I opened the door (singular, the office wasn't as large as my sleeping quarters) and let her look around. She still looked in awe, and I guess I can see why. The room has large cabinets and bookshelves, a fire place, only the latest of technology, and countless other "necessities". I don't use half of it, and honestly don't know how to use many of the fancy computer accessories.

She nodded after finishing looking around the room and walked over to the main desk. She sat on one of the smaller chairs on the side and I took my place on the larger chair that was my own.  I gave a small cough and grinned at her. 'So, should we begin?'

She nodded and we started with the work. Once she explained it, I did actually understand most of it, and made a decent effort of much of the work I had. She had a skill for teaching that none of my official school teachers had, and I was very grateful for that. Thanks to her, I made it through a lot more of my school work in record time, and by 8 pm, I was confident that I had done enough for the day, I thanked her and drove her back to her home.

Her house was small, on the border of the main fire nation city. She told me that she had moved here only to attend the prestigious fire nation school with her brother, after she had been rewarded a scholarship. So that explained her water nation features. I was curious about that, but didn't ask anymore.

Over the next few weeks at school, I slowly started regaining my honour. I was getting closer and closer to that honour roll spot, but there was only one thing stopping me. Uncle Iroh.
