Irrsinn perked up as he felt his brothers fly closer. It had been three weeks since he used his magic which meant Heiko worked his magic faster than he'd thought. Ceru was sleeping soundly on her rock but Irrsinn knew it couldn't last. Winter was coming and a cave was no place for a human child to be in, magic or not. Irrsinn was conflicted. He wanted Ceru to stay but he also knew it was impossible for her to do so. He was used to being on his own but the kindness she'd shown him made it hard for him to scare her away. He didn't want to be the monster from the stories yet he'll be a different monster if he let her stay. Magic was out of the question since he was out of practice and was used to large scale uses. Finding no solution in sight, he flopped his head down on his arm in defeat.

Ceru woke up to the shining sunlight and Irrsinn's wing above her like usual. The morning was chillier than weeks past indicating the late winter was coming. She knew she couldn't stay in a cave during winter. Up north, when the winter truly arrived it brought mountains of snow and frigid temperatures. Though she didn't want to leave her new friend. In the nearly four weeks she'd known him, he had been nicer than anyone that she knew, bar her parents from what she remembered. Leaving would possibly mean a warm place with steady food, while staying would mean harsh cold and unsteady supply of food, but she would have her friend. It was all so confusing and something Ceru didn't want to deal with in the peaceful morning. Closing her eyes, she turned away from the light in hopes of getting a bit more sleep.
