The One With The McNuggets

We were seated by the windows.

I was eating my burger, just as Naomi was doing in the seat next to me. In front of us, in the other side of the table, Abril was sitting in Damian's lap, with his tongue up her throat. He had one arm wrapped around her waist, and the other one placed in her ass.
They would casually stop the kiss to just look at each other with annoyingly cute smiles.

I was staring at them, yet I didn't watch them. I was thinking. Not about anything precisely. Just thinking. Naomi was choking in laughter.
I turned to look at her burst red cheeks and she grinned at me.
"Okay, so, like- you can stop doing that," I said.
Abril turned around and faced us.
"Really?" she asked us. Naomi nodded. "Ugh, okay," she moved in his lap turning her back to him. He glanced at us with a slightly annoyed glamour.
"So what's the deal with your school this year?" he asked me.
"Nothing much. You know my cousins..."
"Bitch," Naomi trashed Celeste, hitting the right spot, since, indeed she was.
"Hot," Damian said referring to Augusto, and I caught Abril pinching his arm.
"I won a fight last week. I'm so totally winning."
Augusto and I seriously kept count of our fights; who beat whose ass, and who's better at life simply.
"What happened?"
"He was messing with this new kid," I explained shortly, trying my best to make sure Naomi didn't interrupt and tell them all about Valen.
"New woman," she obviously corrected me. "New, hot, single, gay woman."

Pause.
So, at first, it was just plain annoying. Honestly, it didn't even bother me that much. I know Naomi. I love Naomi. She's my best friend, and the best person I know. But I'm pretty aware, and used, to her thingys
So it really wasn't that big of a deal. After three years of friendship with the biggest drama fanatic you'll ever meet, well- let's just say you learn not to expect something different.

But it came to a point where it wasn't just irksome, it was painful.
The number of feelings I got by simply seeing Valen's face was outstanding. I seriously found myself catching my breath when she left. More than once.
I did not need a constant, reverse psychology, reminder that she was never going to feel the same way.

In conclusion, every time Naomi pointed out her delusional theory about Valen, it made me sick.

"She's not gay," I whined. I only realized that I had fucked up when all three dumb monkeys were laughing in unison. "Assholes."
"So you got a crush. It's cool," Damian said.
"Definitely. I'm not jealous. You can trade me if it'll get you to sleep with that breathtaking masterpiece."
"Seriously? She calls Valen a 'breathtaking masterpiece' and you are trying to say I'm crushing?"
"Valen, huh?" Abril chuckled.
"Oh, suck my dick. You're just bitches who can't handle me making new friends," I snapped. They all silently glanced at the floor or their food and let me have my peace.
