Chapter 25

"I'm going to get you." He told me and I took off running into the snow and he chased after me.

"No you're not. You won't catch me." I say between laughs. But then I saw a pair of red eyes off in the woods.

I froze.

"Jacob." I say scared and took a breath at the end. My heart beat started to increase.

He quickly ran over to me. Then there was more red eyes that got closer but never coming out of the dark.

"When I say run, run, run right to the house." He whispered to me. "Don't come out, no matter what you hear."

"But what about you?" I asked him holding onto his arm.

"I'm more worried about you." He tells me and I looked at him scared. "My job is to protect you, that's what I'll do."

"Jacob.." I say with worry but that's when the eyes started to get closer.

"Run." He says and I take a few steps back away from him just waiting.

"Jacob." I say agian with the same tone. I didn't know what to say. And his name was all I could say. But when I said his name again he turn and back and looked at me.

"Run, now!" He almost yelled and I took off running as fast as I could to the house.

When I got into the house I opened the door running in and slamming the door behind me before locking it. I then began to let the tears fall as I backed away from the door. And when I did I heard a loud howl. It was Jacob's howl.

"Maddy." I hear my name being said, so I turned around to see Billy wheel in the room.

"It's Jacob. I saw a pair of red eyes in the woods, and he told me to run." I told him with the tears still running down my face. "And I ran. I didn't know what to do, but just to listen to him." I say as my breathing starred to get faster and faster. As they got faster they got louder and louder.

"Sue!" Billy yelled and she ran into the run and looked at him then looked at me.

"Maddy." She said as she looked down at me and I tried my best to look at her. But I just keep looking around. I saw her look at Billy with worry. "She's having a panic attack." She said and looked at me.

Taking me by my waist she lead me into the living room and sat me on the couch. And Billy rolled in after us.

"What are we supposed to do?" He asked her.

Since he's has never had to deal with something like this. Sue has been with me and my mom when I've had a panic attack.

"We need to calm her down first." Sue told him knelling in front of me but I was still looked around.

I was full on freaking out.

What if he got hurt? What if no one else got there in time to help him? What where those eyes? Those red glowing eyes. What if they really hurt him. What if Sam didn't hear is howl.

"Maddy. Maddy. Maddy." Sue keep saying proably trying to get my attention. "Maddy you need to look at me." She tell me a little less calm.

I don't blame her. This is a big matter. I don't know what could happened to me if I don't calm down. I mean I use to have panic attacks, all the time. But they where never this bad. Jacob was always there. He was then one...

"Jacob." I say and I look at her and she looked at me.

"What do you mean?" She asked me.

"Jacob. I need him. I need Jacob. He can calm me down. He knows how. He's the only one that can." I tell her taking breathes between. Gasping for air.

She looked and Billy and he wheeled off. I don't know where he was going. I just hope it's not outside. I don't want him to get hurt if those things are still out there.

I could feel tears run down my face. I could feel my chest start to shake. I closed my eyes tight and hide my face in hands.
