"Hadley! Hurry! This way!" Kyler said in a demanding whisper, "There is a lot you don't know, Hadley."

"Kyler its fine. It was just Kaleb. We should go talk to him-" I was caught off guard when I saw several army men marching towards the center of our town.

"EVERYONE! COME GATHER IN THE TOWN SQUARE FOR AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT..." played over and over again on the towns speakers which are inconveniently placed on every corner.

"Okay, listen, keep your head down and follow my exact moves. Don't talk to anybody and never look back. Keep your head down," Kyler whispered in the scariest tone he has ever talked to me with.

So many things are running through my head right now. What's going on? Why is everyone meeting in the square? Why is my Uncle freaking out? But most importantly, why was Kaleb wearing a Jendrey uniform?

I looked for only a quick second; maybe just a half a second. I regret it all. I saw her. The one who rules us all. The one who makes everyone go to sleep at 9:00pm. Makes every person do a daily drug test, makes everyone pay weekly taxes, and makes every family share two acres with another family. Jolie even took away our technology rights. She's inhuman. "Ma'am we've asked everyone to meet in the square," a man in an army outfit said to me.

I looked up. Kyler had just gone into our house. I saw him look back, with panic in his eyes. What I did next, I'll carry to my grave. I kicked him square in the 'sun don't shine' area. Okay, no joke, I saw his eyes turn blue. I turned, and I RAN.
