“Mr. Gold doesn’t do favours”
“Well we are practically family now”
“Doesn’t matter. You don’t normally do favours”
“Just… hear me out. You say you’re not happy with your life?”
“Well yeah, I never have time to do anything anymore. I can’t go 5 minutes without this phone going off and the town needing something. I just … just want a week, a DAY without being… well, the saviour.”
“I see. Well that I can help you with”
“What do you mean?”
“I’ll make you a deal. I’ll give you a day, where you’re not the saviour. Where you’ll just have… a day all to yourself, with no interruptions”
“Keep talking”
“All you have to do is give me a day in return”
“What do you mean?”
“I’ll just take a day away from your life.”
“Meaning, make it so it never happened?”
“Exactly. How about, a day that you don’t even remember? Like when you were a little baby. Just let me have that day and you can have a day, all to yourself”
“Seems too good to be true”
“I don’t lie about my deals dearie”
“So just this day and I’ll have a day all to myself?”
“Yes. I will send you to the Enchanted Forest. There, you won’t be Sherriff. Plus I will send you specifically to a spa destination… do we have a deal?” he says extending his hand
“ … Deal” I say shaking it
The Next Day
I wake up on a hammock on an … island? “Wow…Gold you outdid yourself” It was lovely.
I spent hours in a nice warm lagoon and swimming on the beach. It was truly paradise.
“That’s all I asked for. Thank you god”
I decided to go into town. I wonder what time in the past (I assumed Gold sent me into a day of the past) he sent me to. As I got into a raft and started paddling to shore, I knew there was something seriously wrong
