We stood before the beanstalk, looking up at it until we could see no more. Ugh, I have to climb this damn thing all over again.
“Here put this on” I say as I put on a counter spell on his arm
“What is this?”
“It’s a counter spell. The giant enchanted this beanstalk to keep out intruders, so these will enable us to climb” I say as I point to my own
“Ah okay, wait what! You said nothing about a giant!”
“Oops. Must have left that part out”
“I’m not sure about this”
“And here I thought you only risk your life for two things. Love and revenge. Well this is revenge”
“Where’d you hear that?”
“Future, remember”
“Right…”
“So are we going to start climbing or what?”
“Wait, how did you procure these counterspells?”
“Uhh… old friend”
“You sure have a lot of these ‘old friends’”
“Yep” I say as we start climbing

“Why are you helping me get revenge on somebody? You don’t seem like the kind of person who helps other people with murder” He asks me as we climb
“I already told you. I know you… loved her … and such and such. So I wanna help you avenge her”
“But why? What are you gaining from this?”
Why must he ask so many damn questions?
“…In the future you don’t get your revenge. Even though I don’t think it’s the best thing to do with your life, I still thought since I’m stuck here I may as well help you get the one thing you didn’t in the future”
“Why don’t I?!”
“You… gave up on it”
“I have spent centuries on this. I have dedicated my life to avenging her. It’s not something I would just ‘give up’ on”
“Well maybe you found something better!”
Oops. I’ve said too much
“And what would that be?”
“Love”
He just stared at me.
“Trust me, Hook revenge is a dark and lonely road. It’s not a beginning, it’s an end”
He continued to stare at me
