“And then you came up to me after dinner and asked me if I was alright. Then I told you how I wasn’t feeling that good and how I wanted a break from this life”

“Wait I thought you said you had a good life. With a husband and family. Why would want to make a deal with me if you had that?”

… He’s right. I had a wonderful life. And I took it for granted. What is wrong with me? All those nights in the foster system crying for my parents, for a family. And then I had that, in fact better than that. And I tossed it away. I can’t believe-

“You have got to stop doing that! Forget about what I said about your life or whatever. Tell me what happened next”

“Then you told me to come by your shop. That night I did. You said you would give me a day off. A day in the enchanted forest, in a spa destination. In exchange for a day of my life. And then you said you would take away a day of my life when I was a baby. Hence taking away the day I was born. I mean I didn’t know that at the time but anyway I agreed. Then I woke up in this nightmare!”

“I see…”

I waited for a few minutes.

“You must be missing something!” he yelled

“I swear I’ve told you everything!”

“That can’t be right! I wouldn’t have taken away the day you were born. I needed you born. I needed the curse. I mean sure I didn’t get my son alive in the end but I wouldn’t have done that”

“You don’t know why your future self did that?”

“No! Dearie, I do things for a reason. But from what you’ve said, taking away your birth seems like the LAST thing I would do”

“Then what do I do? How do I escape this curse?”

“Curse… curse. CURSE!”

“Umm okay, it was a figure of speech.”

“That’s it! This is a curse of some sort. No matter why I would do this, this is a curse. Magic never changes and the only thing that is possible for taking away somebody’s birth is a curse of some sort. I can’t tell you which one, but whatever this is. It’s definitely a curse”

“So umm what do I do then?”

“Surely you know what breaks any curse, dearie”

“…No. No!”

He nodded.

“But … but I don't have any people who love me in this place. My parents don't know who I am. God forbid my HUSBAND doesn’t even know who I am. How the heck am I meant to commit an act of true love if nobody even KNOWS me, let alone love me?”

“Looks like your going to pay your captain a bit of a visit”

“Excuse me?”

“You need to make your husband fall in love with you again. That is the only way. Then when you kiss him with true love, the curse will be lifted”

“But-“

“Look dearie, if you want to see your children or your family ever again your going to have to commit an act of true love. And the pirate is your only option. I mean from what you’ve told me it shouldn’t be THAT difficult. It seems it was you and your walls that took you two to take that long to get together in the first place”

Well that’s true…

“But I don’t know HOW to make him fall in love with me again!”

“Well retrace your steps, how did you two originally meet? When was the first spark between you two?”

“...At the top of a beanstalk”
