Jungkook arrived at his grandmother's café early in the morning. You stopped calling him yesterday after ten times. Jungkook didn't know what he was feeling at this moment. He did receive a good night text from you, but he never replied to that.
He feels like he is ruining his relationship like this. Which he probably and most likely is. A relationship isn't like this. Partners don't act this way to one another, and Jungkook started feeling bad about not replying to you.
But at the same time, he knew you weren't mad at him. You were smart, and he knew that. He knew you had been with him enough to know this was all new and why he might be acting this way.
Jimin's words were also ringing inside his head, and he couldn't get over it. He didn't know who was right or wrong.
''Honey,'' he heard someone when they tapped them on the arm a little. ''Is everything okay?''
It was his grandmother who had noticed Jungkook was in deep thought while cleaning and getting the tables ready for the day's customers.
''Ah,'' Jungkook noticed he had been in thought. ''I'm sorry I blacked out a little. I will try to rush.''
His grandmother stopped him. ''I can see everything is not okay. Sit down and tell me.''
Jungkook had no choice but to listen to her. And maybe he could get some answers from someone, who has a lot of experience. From someone, he trusts the most in this world.
''Is it about that girl?'' she started the conversation because Jungkook wouldn't do it. ''Where is she by the way? I'd love to see her again, she was so nice.''
Jungkook smiled a little at her statement. He loved how she was accepting her. ''She went to see her family for the week.''
His grandmother realized immediately why Jungkook was so quiet and out of this world. ''And you're sad because she is not here?''
Jungkook nodded slowly, already knowing what she would say. ''Am I doing the right thing? I feel like I messed up again...''
''Oh honey,'' his grandmother sighed. ''For the first time in years, I have seen you smiling the way you smile when she is present. I can see she has an effect on you.''
''But I get mad at her for not staying with me for the holiday,'' Jungkook pouted, getting emotional like he always does with his grandmother. ''She stopped calling me because I didn't answer her.''
''Why didn't you answer?''
Jungkook shook his head. ''That's the thing. I don't know why I keep declining her when I should be happy that she wants to stay in contact even when she is busy with her family.''
His grandmother sighed again, but this time it was more like a concerned sigh. ''You're afraid she will leave you?''
That was a strike on Jungkook's heart.
''You didn't want her to leave to see her family because you wanted to keep her close to you so she wouldn't leave your side,'' his grandmother said.
Jungkook started sobbing, and he nodded like a little kid would do after doing something bad, and now getting scolded for it. His grandmother came to his side and hugged him, and that was enough to make Jungkook cry. His grandmother knows how sensitive the topic of a family is to her grandson. She knows why Jungkook is too afraid to let any girl near him or commit.
He is afraid he will lose you just like he did his parents.
He knows it's not the same, but the feeling is mutual. Jungkook cares about you almost as much as he cares for his parents, and losing you would be the final strike to his heart that he couldn't handle.
''She will be back. Trust me, she seemed smart enough to understand your situation. She knows right?'' she asked, and Jungkook nodded while hugging her even more. ''Then it's okay my dear. Stop crying, and let's get to work.''
His grandmother wiped his tears and made him smile a little bit.
You were sitting in your old bedroom bed, looking at your phone and thinking if you should try to call him for the last time. You were sad that he hadn't answered your calls or texts.
But you knew why, or you think you know why. You miss him so much, and it is only the beginning of the week. You lowkey start regretting staying here the whole week and not just a few days.
''Honey?'' your mother called you from the door. ''What are you doing here alone again? Trying to call that boy? Is he worth it?''
You sighed. You had the same conversation with your mother since you came here. You told them that you have a boyfriend, but that's all. You haven't told them about him in that detail or what has happened between you two.
Jungkook's life is too sensitive to be told to someone he has never met. You think it is not the right time to reveal it because you want to go slow with him, and you don't want to tell anything about him he wouldn't want to tell.
''Trust me, mom, he is,'' you convinced her again.
''Has he called you yet?'' She asked, and you shook your head. ''I hope he has a good reason.''
''Mom, trust me on this one for once,'' you said with a serious tone, and she lifted her hands and left the room.
Your mom wasn't hating on Jungkook. Her questions and statements didn't sound angry or too disappointed with your choice of a boyfriend. She was just worried too if you end up breaking your heart the way you did with Minho.
You decided to text Jungkook before you'd join with your family.
Jungkook received the text when he was having his break from waitressing.
''I miss you.''
You had written.
Jungkook smiled a little and kissed his phone in response. However, he didn't text it back because you knew he missed you too. Jungkook decided to survive this week and see how it went.
He's doing wrong. He knows that, but he cannot help it. This is how he is, and it won't be normal or change in one day.
One thing is for sure,
he has found the girl he loves.
