THE CALL

Archie, that's the name of my husband. I can still remember our first encounter, it was accidentally but I'm glad that I met him by that way.

I'm now here at Demure company which owned by that Devil Archie. Devil Archie? Why? Because I heard a lot of negatives about him. He is snob, impatient, rude, one wrong move and you're fired. I can't imagine that I'll meet that man today. I heaved a sigh and think some positive thoughts because I felt jittery right now. Damn, is he that devil?

I'm now heading on his office, actually I don't know his face or whatever, pili lang daw ang nakakaalam ng information about sa kan'ya. Ang secretive huh. 

While walking I accidentally bumped into a human body. I looked at him and I was stunned because he's an epitome of Greek God, what the hell? His face is perfect, he's like an angel for me. But I noticed that he is emotionless, I bowed at him—an act like I'm sayin' sorry to him.

"What a rude man," I whispered. He didn't say anything, tsk nilagpasan n'ya lang ako. Napairap nalang ako dahil sa inakto n'ya.

Until now I remember that day. Hindi ko akalaing si Archie pala ang lalaking nakabangga ko noon. Unbelievable.

7 years na kaming nagsasama ngayon at sinabi n'yang uuwi s'ya sa pilipinas to celebrate our 7th Anniversary. I'm so excited to feel his hugs and kisses again.

/Husband's calling...

Agad kong sinagot ang tawag nito.

Archie: Wife..
Me: Hey, where are you?
Archie: Nasa plane na ako.
Me: Yes! I'm so excited
Archie: Me too, wife.

I noticed his sad voice but I didn't mind, maybe he is just tired.

Me: Are you okay?
Archie: Yes, I just miss you wife.
Me: Magkikita na rin tayo.
Archie: Yes haha, let me sing for you.
Me: for what?
Archie: Is that bad?
Me: No, I mean.. Did someone bothering you?
Archie: No wife. Please, let me.
Me: Sure hubby.

I took a deep sigh and closed my eyes slowly.

Archie: I will always love you
I will always stay true
There's no one who loves you
like I do
Come to me now
I will never leave you
I will stay here with you
Through the good and bad I
will stand true
I'm in love with you

Archie: I love you, Sitti..

After I heard his angelic voice I can't help but to cry. I'm being emotional, damn

Me: I love you more, Archie.

Archie: So? See you soon wife. I love you, always remember that.

Hindi n'ya ako inantay na makasagot dahil pinatayan n'ya agad ako ng tawag. I tried to call him but unreachable na ito kaya hinayaan ko nalang. I'm being paranoid nanaman.

Lumabas nalang ako ng bahay at tumingin sa kalangitan, iniisip ang eroplanong sinasakyan ni Archie, sana dumaan 'yun dito.

After 4days... He didn't come home. Sinubukan ko s'yang tawagan but hindi ma-reach. Pero bigla s'yang tumawag saakin unexpectedly, kaya agad akong nataranta.

/Husband's calling.

Archie: Wife..

Me: Where are you?

Archie: I'm so sorry wife. I'm sorry kung hindi ako nakauwi. Fuck.. Belated Happy 7th Anniversary my pretty wife.

Me: What h-happened?

Archie: Wife.. I love you.

Me: I love you more, but can you tell me what happened?

Archie: I miss you so much wife, I'm preparing something. See you.

Me: Wait—

The way he act.. Nag-umpisa na akong mag overthink because of it. Why is he acting so weird?

/Samantha's calling...

Archies' sister. Ano naman kayang meron?

Me: Hey, sister in law.

Samantha: Sitti...

Me: bakit ka umiiyak? Are you okay?

Samantha: Si Archie.. Wala na s'ya..

Me: Hindi nakakatawang biro ate Sam.

Pilit kong pinapasigla ang boses ko dahil doon. Pero rinig na rinig ko talaga ang paghikbi nito. Pilit ko ring iniisip na hindi totoo.

Me: Stop pranking me.. Please.

Samantha: I'M NOT, OPEN YOUR FUCKING TV!

This is the first she shouted at me like that, kaya agad kong kinuha ang remote ng TV at inopen 'yun.

Me: but he called me earlier, ate.

Samantha: H-how come?

Hindi ko s'ya pinansin at parang nanigas ako sa kinauupuan ko nang marinig ko ang sinasabi sa balita...

News: The body of Engr. Archie Demure are now found. Pagkatapos na paghahanap sa loob na apat na araw ay ngayon lang ito natagpuan. Maraming nakatanggap ng iba't ibang komento mula rito. Maraming nag-iisip kung bakit nga ba sumabog ang eroplanong sinasakyan nito, maraming pasahero pa rin ang patuloy na pinaghahanap ang kani-kanilang bangkay.

I found myself crying, hindi ako makahinga. Pilit kong sinasabi na nananaginip lang ako, na hindi ito totoo. Pilit kong kinukumbinsi ang sarili ko pero kahit anong gawin ko... Niloloko kolang ang sarili ko.. My husband is now gone, Our memories starts to flood..

His smile
His laugh
His smirk
His seductive voice
His sweet sides
His rude attitude
His efforts..
All about him, I miss him
But all of that are now gone.

"It can't be..." then I cried a lot.

"Hubby.." Paulit-ulit kong usal habang umiiyak ng tahimik. I can't accept this. Nasa ganoong posisyon ako when my phone starts to rung...
