Hawks watched Dabi with wide eyes as the dark haired man stalked over to him, stopping to stand in front of him.
He leaned forward slowly, leaving their faces inches apart as his azure eyes burned a cold and unfamiliar feeling into him.
"Okay, hero. Explain."
The room was suddenly colder than ice. Dabi's glare was so sharp Hawks could almost believe it would physically cut him.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He didn't want to be afraid of Dabi.
"First, my apologies, Endeavor-san. That- that wasn't me-"
The former villain cut him off, slamming his hand on the bed beside the hero. "What do you mean 'wasn't you'? You just said you wanted to fuck my da- fuck Endeavor!"
He flinched. "I know what I said I just didn't mean it- i mean I'm curious, yes- but I don't want-"
"Unbelievable."
"Quit interrupting me."
"Quit being such a lying cheating bastard."
Hawks froze, his heart stuttering.
Was that what Dabi thought?
Did people only ever see him as some wild teen slut?
"What?"
"You heard me," the dark haired man sneered, stepping back.
"Touya, please listen-"
"Shut the fuck up. Don't call me that."
Tears stung the back of his eyes, threatening to spill over. He scratched his arm subconsciously.
Endeavor, who had been silent up to this point, stood now, placing a hand on Dabi's shoulder. "Give him a chance. We need to hear what he has to say."
Dabi glared at him, shoving his hand off. "What? You saying that because you want between my boyfriend's legs?"
"That's not why and you know it."
Touya sat Endeavor's bed, his legs folded beneath him. "Okay, I'll listen."
Hawks took a deep breath, his hands shaking at his sides.
If I fuck up a single word he's gonna break up with me.
"I think I may have come in contact with someone with a controlling quirk-"
The dark haired man let out a sharp laugh. "Why don't you just be honest for once in your damn life. You slept with an Endeavor blanket when I met you. You totally want to fuck him."
The hero's cheeks were red at this point and tears were pricking his eyes. "Why won't you believe me?"
"Why'd you kill Jin?"
The room fell completely silent save for the heavy irritated breathing of Dabi, who was fuming.
Hawks lowered his head, glaring at the ground. "Do you honestly believe I just go about my life happily knowing he's gone because of me?"
His voice was so quiet, it almost couldn't be heard. But it was heard, and it made the former villain freeze.
Endeavor stepped between the two of them now, sweating. "I think we all need to take five."

...

Dabi folded his arm. "For once I agree with you, Endeavwhore. I think we do need a break."
With that, Hawks stood, rushing out to the balcony with tears trailing down his cheeks.
He would have followed had he not been so upset.
He knew deep down inside it was better to let the hero bitch and moan alone while he calmed himself because if he didn't give himself time to drown his anger he would certainly do something regrettable.
So, the villain grabbed a change of clothes from his bag and headed to the bathroom.
He caught sight of himself as he was agressively brushing his teeth.
His brows were furrowed, making his usually bright eyes look dark.
He glared at his hideous scars, standing out in stark contrast to his pale skin.
Dabi took a deep breath, letting his shoulders droop.
Fuck.
I shouldn't have lost it on Kei.
It was too late now though.
He'd just have to make it up to him later.
They were going to have to explore Oregon's coast soon, maybe he could convince his group to swing by that one beach that he'd seen pictures of.
A sharp buzzing caught his attention.
He dug in his pocket for a moment before pulling out his phone.
A single message was on the screen from Spinner simply saying, "Vlog it."

...

Why is it so dark?
I thought going to sleep would bring dreams but all I've managed to see so far are a few blurry glimpses.
Why am I here?
What didn't you explain to me, All for One?

...

Hawks leaned against the railing, letting the gentle breeze play with his hair and feathers.
What had made him say those things?
He wiped his runny nose on his sleeve, taking a shaky breath.
Did Dabi still only view him as the traitor that killed Twice?
He should be here- not me.
I don't know why I'm still bothering...
The hero plucked a feather, twirling it idly between his thumb and forefinger.
It's crimson coloring stared back at him mockingly, making his mind go back to that fateful December night.

Why couldn't he have just saved Jin and ended it like he'd planned?

He shook his head, trying to rid himself of the memories.
With a small flick, the lone feather floated downward, falling against the balcony floor.
He could sense the cool feeling of the concrete through the small feather.
Hawks slowly raised his foot, his hands shaking in anger.
It should be him who's here!
In a mimicked motion of how Dabi had stepped on his face, he stomped his foot down on the poor little feather, snapping it at the vein.
A sharp pain shot up his spine but he kept stomping on it repeatedly.
Finally, when it was too mangled to feel anything from, he collapsed in a heaving heap.
The moonlight glared down at him accusingly, cutting through him.
I'm destined to be alone...
