"NO!! NO! NO!" The villain cried.
It was comical- the thought of it at least- a villain mourning the loss of a hero.
No- not loss. He couldn't write it off as loss yet, right? Because Keigo wasn't dead, right?!
But it was possible that he'd been crushed in the hands of whatever the hell that creature was that had taken him.Despite running at full speed, it felt like he wasn't getting anywhere. While the fog had cleared, sloving one problem, it had also birthed a new one; the monster had gone, taking his dearly beloved bird with it.
How could Dabi have been so careless?
This was supposed to be a mission proving that he was a redeemable person enough to be let into society again and yet here he had gone off and immediately sought drug deals!
What if Keigo died because of him and he didn't even get to say goodbye? No. There was no time to sprint after nothing and exhaust himself to the point of no longer thinking straight. Not that he ever could think straight. Now was the time to really think- to truly plan. Sure, he hadn't done his identity reveal the way he'd wanted to but, he had planned it. He had planned just about every single damn step he had ever taken.
Every breath, every blink, hell, even every beat of his heart- All of it- planned for with backups and fall backs for the worst case scenarios life could offer.
Now was the time for that. So, what exactly did he do?
Well for one thing, he stopped. While it ached in his ribs as his heartstrings tried so desperately to pull him after his boyfriend, he knew it was best to leave him for now....
"Good point, Young Midoriya." Toshinori Yagi smiled fondly at his s- HIS APPRENTICE. He smiled fondly at his apprentice.
They'd just been talking about One For All and the powers hidden in its depths and the bright kid had pointed out a few things. One, that the power seemed to hold a bit of personality to it- which he'd never really thought about before.
Two, it was apparently getting stronger - which, he wasn't sure how to react to.
If the power was getting stronger, was it going to grow too much for the originally quirkless boy?
The last thing he wanted was for his student- someone he'd grown to love and care for like family- have his limbs pop off or worse, lose control and accidently harm another person. He was sure Izuku would feel that like a weight on his shoulders until he cracked and broke his bones, crumbling him down and down until he would eventually snap. And well, snapping in this case would either mean a loss of mind and change of sides, which would doom the world basically, or it would mean the death of him in the saddest way possible.
"Hey All Might, do you think we can go for a run later? I was thinking-"
And that's exactly where the retired hero quit listening.
Sure, he enjoyed their talks and all, but when Midoriya was mentioning thinking it was bound to turn into a very long, very pointless ramble session. But, he didn't complain out loud. He sat in silence and nodded along as though he were paying attention when really he was wondering what was up with the others.
It was early morning- like, really early morning, but they were all supposed to be meeting up as a team right now.
Maybe Endeavor had decided to be stubborn and change plans of which room they were to meet in without discussing it first?
Honestly, the previous symbol of peace wouldn't put it past the guy.
Endeavor had never been fond of the lanky blond man and had spared no mercy in letting him know it.
But now they were on a team, and this mission was more important than their rivalry. For the most part, he thought of this assignment a learning and teaching opportunity for Izuku Midoriya. But if it were just to educate and help train students why would they only choose one student from one class?
They very easily could've chosen a student from each grade, a student from each class, or even a single student from multiple schools.
But alas, that wasn't the case and he truly didn't know the full purpose of this job or why he'd been included.Bang! Bang! Bang!
The door shook on its frame from heavy thunking on the other side.
Before All Might could say a word, Izuku was already on his feet, readying his full cowling. And then the door swung open, the handle breaking a hole into the wall.
...
Dabi's stomach was so knotted that when he finally swung the door to his shared hotel room open, the first thing to leave his mouth wasn't a cry for help but was a burning stream of vomit.
He'd tried to stay calm, really, he had- but with the weight of Hawks being kidnapped slowly sinking into his chest on top of the cold fear of knowing he was going to have to ask his abuser for help had gotten to him.
As soon as the chunks splattered on the floor, a large, looming figure came charging over. Here it comes! I'm dead-
Fuck.
Don't hit me again- not now!The villain instinctively covered his head in anticipation of an attack that never came.
The towering, ever scowling redhead was speaking, but it fell on deaf ears.
The only sound Dabi could hear was the roar of blood in his ears from his pounding heart.
His legs turned to noodles, hardly keeping him standing. And now he had to face the stench of puke on not only himself but the floor.
Besides, the vomit was seeping through his pants and soaking just enough into his underwear to make him just that little extra bit uncomfortable.A pair of rough hands on his shoulders snapped him out of his daze though, his quirk automatically going off in his panicked state.
They were lucky the room was fire proof.
Endeavor let out a surprised yelp but managed not to take too big a hit, only getting the slight edges of the weak blast. Part of Dabi wished his father had an ice quirk instead so he'd be able to really taste the bite of his flames."T- Dabi! What's going on?"
Finally snapped back to reality, (ope there goes gravity-) the villain managed to choke out a simple "Hawks."Immediately following his word, Dabi basically rapped out as fast as he could what happened while bolting out the door to go to the other hotel room.
As much as he hated everyone on his team– except Hawks, of course– he knew they had at least some capability to help.
Endeavor quickly followed him, which, unfortunately made Dabis stomach start to lurch again but that was surpressed to best of his abilities. As soon as he reached the other door he began banging on it desperately. And even though he heard movement on the other side, they were taking too long so he kicked the door in.
A wave of pain shot up him, awakening his leg nerves in the most unpleasant way but there was no time to care about that now.The door swung open with a thud as it hit– and probably cracked– the wall.
There, sitting at a small round table in the middle of the room were the broccoli child and the skeleton man.
"Asses up! We gotta move!" Dabi barked.
