the trial

So finally it was the day for sirius' trial. Sirius was very nervous and he had not even slept the night before. He was pacing back and forth."padfoot its 5 in the morning what r u" remus sighed and sat on the couch."sirius don't worry everything will be fine" said remus comforting him."yeah" said sirius sitting on the couch beside remus."want some hot chocolate" offered remus to which sirius nodded. "Today's Harry's birthday" said remus trying to cheer up sirius."ya and it's just ruined becoz of all this" said sirius sadly."i think harry had already told u about this..."."ya he told me about this but that doesn't change anything...i still regret that i was not there for harry when i should be..i should have taken care of him not those filthy muggles..i just failed as a godfather" sirius muttered this more to himself than remus. "No padfoot u have not failed...and "."u know how harry is treated in his uncle's house..worse than a house elf" said sirius angrily. Remus looked at sirius in shock and anger."what" he questioned."those worst excuse for humans make him do all the house chores even if he is injured or not well they tie him to his windows and let him starve there." Sirius said with tears forming in his eyes."how do u know harry told u this?" Asked remus trying to keep his voice calm."do u think harry will tell me on his own...i have seen him doing the chores even when he had a deep cut in his hands. His hands r covered with burns and cuts and tie marks" said sirius sadly."sirius dont blame urself plz..its also my fault..it's the dumbledore's fault anyway but it's not the time for blame game..u cant change the past but u can still give harry a better future and for this u have to be strong padfoot" said remus in a heavy voice and tears in his eyes. He was also feeling the guilt but he needed to remain calm. Sirius looked at remus and smiled at the assurance. Remus smiled back."now go and wake up harry or we will be late" said remus looking at the clock. Sirius immediately beamed at this and went upstairs to wake up harry.
Harry was sleeping in his room. He saw sirius lost the trial and was given the dementors kiss. He was sweating profusely and thrashing on his bed.
Sirius came inside Harry's room and was surprised to see harry thrashing on his bed. He sat on his knees beside Harry's bed."no no plz no sirius no" harry kept muttering this. Sirius was worried."harry wake up i m right here it's alright" he started shaking harry. A tear escaped Harry's eyes and slid down his face."harry what happ..its just a nightmare wake up pup" said sirius shaking harry."moony" sirius called for remus. Remus immediately ran upstairs and when he saw what was happening he immediately took out his wand and said "enervate". Harry's eyes snapped open but tears were still running down his face. He looked up to see the blurred and worried faces of sirius and remus. Sirius..it was all just a nightmare harry thought to himself. He sat up and wiped the tears from his face. "Pup r u.." Sirius stopped as he was suddenly engulfed into a tight hug from harry. Sirius smiled and hugged him back but gave remus a questioning look to which remus shrugged. "R u alright pup" asked sirius separating from harry."yeah" said harry wearing his glasses."why were u crying pup what did u saw and u were calling my name..tell me" sirius asked in a concerned voice."it was just nothing..dont worry it was nothing important" said harry giving remus a pleading look which told him he can't tell sirius about this. Remus understood and nodded. "But.."."leave it Sirius if he is saying it's nothing then don't push him" said remus and harry smiled thankfully at remus to which remus smiled back. "Happy birthday cub" said remus hugging harry. Remus noticed that sirius was glaring at him and he smirked at him."heey i should be the one who wish him first..he is my godson" said sirius playfully. Both remus and harry chuckled at this and sirius joined them. "Haaappy birthdaayy puppy" said sirius in a sing song way. "Puppy" said harry questioningly. "Didn't u like ur nickname" said sirius smirking. "No it's not like that it's fine at least better than freak" said harry muttering the last part to himself but both sirius and remus heard it. They exchanged sad looks. "Sirius why dont u go down and serve the breakfast atleast u can do that" said remus."Ofcourse i can do that" saying this sirius went downstairs. Remus sat next to harry."now tell me harry what did u saw" asked remus gently. Harry sighed."i saw that..sirius had lost the trial..and..and is given the dementors kiss" he chocked on the last part and immediately buried his head against remus. Remus gently stroked Harry's hair."none of that will happen harry u know that don't u...u urself had told sirius about this" said remus softly."ya i said that to him bcoz i cant see him worrying but i can't help myself from that i m just scared" said harry. "Don't worry everything will be alright..now cheer up and come downstairs for the breakfast." Harry nodded at him and Both went downstairs.
It was the time for trial and they were at the ministry. Sirius hugged harry."don't worry and all the best" said harry in a calm voice. Remus kept a comforting hand on sirius's shoulder and nodded. Sirius smiled at both of them.
Sirius was given veritaserum and his trial begin.

"I didn't killed them it was again peter he did so to frame me"
"And u killed peter"
"No i wanted to but couldn't do so. He is alive and roaming freely"
People started whispering to each other."so i think the case is dismissed as the truth is out" said dumbledore.
Fudge didn't looked convinced."do u have any witness to prove that peter is still alive and u haven't killed him bcoz if u have then its again a crime" said fudge. Sirius glared at him angrily." What do u mean by that.. i m saying i have saw him and Ofcourse i m saying the truth as i m under veritaserum.". "But that's not enough do u have any witness" said fudge."u r forcefully dragging the case he is speaking the truth". Said dumbledore. Fudge sighed."so those all in favour of sirius black raise ur hands". Majority of of the people raised their hands."okay so as the majority is in favour of sirius black therefore he is cleared of all charges.case dismissed" Harry and remus hugged each other in delight. Harry ran towards sirius and threw himself towards him.sirius stumbled back but maintained his balance and tightly hugged harry."this is my best birthday" said harry with his voice muffled against sirius. They separated and sirius ruffled Harry's hair and smiled at him."congrats padfoot" said remus giving sirius a brotherly hug.
They returned back to grimmauld place. Weasleys and hermione had arrived there for Harry's birthday. Hermione had given harry a book and a photoalbum of them. Ron had given him a chocolate box and quidditch tournament ticket was a gift from all of the weasleys. After the party they went home.sirius remus and harry sat on the couch."so the day is over now" said harry in a whisper."no not yet we haven't given u ur gift yet"said sirius grinning. Harry smiled at both if them. Remus gave harry a photo album of his parents. Harry just stared at the photographs with glistening eyes and a smile. He touched the photographs and closed his eyes as if he was feeling them. Sirius and remus grimaced at each other."thank u" said harry in a soft whisper. "Now its my turn" said sirius giving harry a huge box."woah what's inside this" said harry opening the box. The box was full of toys and small clothes. Harry looked confusingly at sirius who was grinning madly."remember these..they are ur childhood toys." Said sirius. Harry smiled at him."u see that small broomstick i gifted it to u on ur first birthday isn't it awesome i know it is bcoz my choice is awesome" said sirius to which both remus and harry chuckled. Harry saw a sweater on which prongs jr was written. He looked at remus and remus smiled at him."u were talking about this" asked harry to which remus smiled. He looked at the soft toys of a black dog, a werewolf and a stag."u can play with them sometimes" said sirius playfully."hey sirius harry is now a 14 year teenager" said remus."but he will always be the small pup for me" said sirius to which harry smiled. "Thanks both of u" said harry. "So now we can move into black manor" said remus. Sirius nodded reluctantly he hated that house. They talked for a while then remus went to sleep leaving harry and sirius alone."so dont u have to sleep" asked sirius. "No i dont feel sleepy yet"said harry looking at the photoalbum again. He looked up as he heard the noise of glasses. He saw sirius was drinking firewhisky. He smiled at him."do u want some" asked sirius. "Um i m underage i think" said harry."rules can be bend sometimes and it's ur birthday by the way" said sirius ."moony will not approve that i think so" said harry looking at remus room."what moony doesn't know will not hurt him..give it a try" said sirius offering harry a glass. Harry took it reluctantly and drank it in one go."wicked" harry whispered. "So tell me the list of the rules u have broken till now." Said sirius giving harry another glass."there r many i think so" said harry sitting in a more comfortable posture."so tell me about ur achievements.." Said sirius smirking."well in the first year i got into the restricted section of the library and even on the restricted floor after curfew"said harry chuckling." In the second year me and ron came to hogwarts by a flying car bcoz we missed the train...that was risky i know.." ."wicked" said sirius."fancy another shot"."sure" said harry smirking."so do u like her" asked sirius."no i don't like hermione" said harry quickly."i never said hermione" said sirius chuckling. Harry blushed and started biting his lips."no she's a good friend nothing else" said harry."Ohh good friend i see" said sirius laughing."hey slow down u will wake remus he is a light sleeper" said harry in a whisper."so who was ur most favorite and least favorite hogwarts teacher"asked sirius."most favorite was Ofcourse moony..professor mcgonagall is nice but moony is the best."sirius grinned."least favorite is a tough choice u see quirrel had voldemort at the back of his head and that Lockhart nearly obliviated me but they acted at the end of the session but snape he just tortured us for the whole year. Snape is my least favorite i think. He is a greasy git always tries to find flaws in me to deduct points" said harry to which sirius nodded in agreement." I m proud of u for what u said snivellous is a .."Sirius stopped as harry gestured him to slow down. Sirius nodded."hey siri ur long hair suits u" said harry delusionly. "Oh i knew that by the way i will also look good in short hair" said sirius smirking."oh there's no doubt in that" said harry smiling."now i think it's quite late " said sirius."ya i feel sleepy i hope i dont get those bloody nightmares again" harry mumbled the last part to himself."whatt" asked sirius."nothing...good night siri" said harry as he stumbled back to his room."night puppy" said sirius drowsily. Harry entered his room and fell on the bed fully dressed with his shoes on. Sirius slept on the couch only. Remus woke up at 3 as he had to go somewhere early morning. He went to the living room and saw sirius was sleeping on the couch. He sighed as he saw the glasses and bottle still kept on the table. He frowned when he saw two glasses. He tried to wake sirius up."padfoot..wake up" said remus shaking sirius."what happened" asked sirius sleepily."i have to go somewhere today so.."."then go goodbye" saying this sirius slept again. Remus sighed and got ready. He tried to wake up sirius again but in vain. Then he finally went to Harry's room. He was about to knock but the door was already ajar. He went inside to see harry was sleeping fully dressed with his shoes and glasses on. He removed his shoes and his glasses and made him sleep in a more comfortable position. He came downtairs angrily."damn it padfoot wake up this intance or i will hex u" said remus in a loud whisper so as not to wake up harry. Sirius woke up glaring at remus but then his glare softened as he saw remus was giving him a death stare."ya moony u r going somewhere?" Asked sirius."u made harry drink last night what were u thinking do u want to spoil him rotten" asked remus."oh he can do that once in a while and secondly he's a teenager of 14" said sirius casually. Remus continued to glare at sirius."oh cmon moony don't overreact now and i m not going to spoil him but i will try to give him all the happiness he deserves."."sirius but.." Remus was interrupted by sirius."oh shut it moony don't be a hypocrite u have also drunken urself in ur 4th year. Dont u remember in the common room then.."."ohk i got it but just don't do it again and secondly i m going for few days till then u just help harry to pack things to shift into black manor" said remus to which sirius nodded. Remus flooed after bidding goodbye to sirius.
Sirius went to Harry's room to wake him up. He pushed the curtains."wake up sleepyhead" said sirius playfully. Harry stirred and turned on his side. Sirius chuckled. "Wake up pup" said sirius gently shaking harry. Harry woke up and wore his glasses. "Morning sirius"."good morning harry". They both went downstairs. Harry looked around for remus."moony has gone somewhere for a few days" said sirius reading Harry's mind. Harry nodded. He got ready and came for the breakfast.
They started packing after it."umm sirius tomorrow i will be going to the burrow so what would u do alone..so why dont u come with me to the quidditch world cup" asked harry hopefully. Sirius smiled at harry but shook his head."i don't want to go in such a crowded place there r still many people who don't believe me..u understand" said sirius to which harry nodded reluctantly."hey it's only a matter of two days..i can manage myself and also i m used to living alone" said sirius. Harry stared at sirius as he said the last part but said nothing.
