Devin's POV

After I met the daughter of our company's secretary, I felt like my world stopped. I know it sounds too cheesy but I think it's weird when Reese can make me smile for a couple of minutes which nobody could do.

Today, we met at a café. Gusto niyang ibalik sa'kin yung kwintas. It's an emerald pendant. I willingly gave it to her because I thought it would suit her the best.

Actually it was my mom's necklace. Bago sila maghiwalay ni dad, she gave it to me. She reminded me if ever I find someone that i'm sure i'll be happy with, I should give this to the girl.

I had a hard time finding good clothes to wear. I don't wanna look bad in front of her though. So I wore a black plain shirt with a denim jacket and a black skinny pants. I fixed my hair on the side and also got my car keys. I was already late when I came at the coffee shop.

I saw her getting ready to go but I guess my presence stopped her. I didn't expect that Reese will return the pendant. She handed it to me seriously like I did something wrong to her.

"It's a gift for you".

What the fuck am I saying?

I just really hoped she didn't find me weird. I sighed out of relief when she just accepted it as easy as a kid. Each and every time she would look at her phone, I can't help myself not to stare at her pale charcoal eyes.

*phone rings*

["Hey bro!"]

It was Patrick, my only friend who I can count on. We talked about a few acads stuffs. I ended the call when I noticed that Reese was putting her things on her bag. I insisted her that I will take her home but I guess it was not a good idea.

I went to my condo with a big smile on my face. This was the first time I smiled long enough. She really has a big impact on me. But it's still so weird! I don't even know her that much! I didn't even spent an hour with her but I feel like I'm really attached.

The next day, I planned to meet her again but I don't have any enough reason for it.

"Tol, easy lang yan. Malakas ka naman sa babae eh!" Patrick teased.

"Hindi bro, iba siya eh," I replied.

"P'anong iba ba?"

"I think she's a type of girl who will only spend her time on something for a valid reason and a worthy outcome," I explained.

"Who's the lucky girl anyway?"

"Basta! Isipan mo na lang ako ng idadahilan para magkita kami," I demanded.
