Mira POV

" I heard they had their roka ceremony yesterday...."

" Man , the Behls and the Malhotras...."

This all that the employees are gossiping about. I really can't go out of cabin before listening to these circulate from cubicle to cubicle. It's like there is nothing these employees have to do other than to talk about my wedding.

I thought that at least in the office I can get a peace of mind ,  since Mom and Sam have already lost it. Just this morning they had started to shortlist all the guests that they had to invite. Don't even get me started on my friends .

They had already devoted their time to finding the perfect song for my Sangeet.

I try to busy my mind by focusing on some reports, sighing.

Dad's gone to Noida for some event , and I was technically in charge of all the office right now. I massage my temple , and press the intercom.

" Ma'am?"

A pretty faced young girl poked her head in.

Meet Kriti. She's my too-shy-for-her-own-good-PA. It's only been a week since she joined , but I really like her silent and work oriented attitude.

"  I  needed a report ."

" Waalia's legal briefs?" Kriti confirmed , and after I nodded , she left.

A  glance at the clock told me that it's almost lunchtime, so I mentally ready myself and start packing up the reports and sign wherever they needed me to.

Kriti handed me the last document that I needed to put in the file.

" The document room." I instructed , before pulling out my bag to leave. I already made it  a point to dine outside today since the office is already so suffocating.

Kriti opens the gate for me and we leave my cabin together.

" I heard that they also might merge Behl and Co with the Malhotras."

Someone said loudly in the crowd that had grouped towards one of the sales section.

You. Didn't.

" What's the fuss about?" I ask impatiently  , weaving through the crowds to the center guy , who had the audacity to speak out nonsense.

The people who had gathered around her swallowed in fear and immediately distanced themselves from her. The girl himself just pursed her lips and cocked her head.

See , there's one queen in the empire. She doesn't need a crown to show it. Her attitude is enough.

" I suppose you all are having your lunch break?" I question Kriti. Her eyes widened and she stiffly nodded. The crowd was fixed on me , the girl and Kriti.

I turned to face the girl .

" And she is ...?" I glance at Kriti.

" Sanya  Trivedi. Operations Manager."

" Ms Trivedi. Let me tell you  ,  this is a place of work and professionalism. If you want to gossip like old ladies , you are more than welcome to remove yourself from the premises." I say in a strong , steely voice , " Rather than wasting your time on pointless rumor spreading , how beneficial it would be if you do something relaxing or productive in your break time?"

Her button like eyes narrowed , and I could still see the ridicule in them.

" Since everybody seems to have ample of free time , I suppose we could just  reduce the lunch hour by twenty minutes , right , Kriti?"
