I kissed the top of her head and watched her slowly fall asleep. I stayed with her but left early in the morning. at the breakfast table I explained what happened. Gaby had seen me come from Paris' room and had been talking to the others non stop. after I explained them they thought it was super sweet and even encouraged me to do it again. I walked back up after breakfast with some food for Paris. when I walked through her door I saw she was still asleep. she needed to eat so I decided to wake her up. I put the food away and crouched down next to her. ''Time to wake up.'' I said kissing her temple. I stroked her head gently and moved onto her cheek after she stirred a bit. ''Come on Paris, time to wake up.'' I said. she stirred and then slowly opened her eyes. ''Good morning sleeping beauty.'' I said kissing the tip of her nose. she looked at me sleepily and then rolled over and covered her head with her pillow. I chuckled. ''Paris.'' I sighed. I could see her laughing and I got an idea. I started to poke her sides. she squirmed and the pillow was off her face, instead she was now using it to hit me. I got the pillow and threw it at the other end of the bed. I poked her side again and she squealed. then she giggled and turned to me. ''You awake?'' I asked. she nodded and smiled. ''You know what?'' Gaby said around afternoon. she had joined Paris and me to do fun stuff because Paris couldn't get out of bed. ''What?'' I said. ''I know something we could do. I have had this idea for a while now and I think today would be the perfect day to finally do it.'' she said. ''What?'' I asked. ''I've always wondered how fast Paris is in her ASL, and I've always wondered how songs would be if you used ASL. we could do that.'' Gaby said. Paris nodded eagerly but slowly. we put on some normal paced songs first and watched how Paris signed it. she had the lyrics on her phone so the singer and her would be at the same pace instead of Paris having to rely on her hearing. then we slowly picked up the pace with each song. eventually they were just all rapping songs. it was very cool to see how fast Paris moved her hands and some of the words I actually recognized. then Gaby was in charge of the song choice so we took a different turn. she just picked songs that were funny to dance on. she stood up and started to dance on them. we past Gangnam style, chicken dance and others. I looked at Paris and saw she was laughing just as hard as I was. it was quite impressive to see how Gaby could keep a straight face. sure she pulled a couple of weird or goofy faces but actually burst out laughing wasn't one of them. Paris really changed Gaby. she had turned very selfish after a few years of high school. that was one of the reasons it didn't work between us anymore, and now it just made me see that I made the right choice. we were better off as friends, but Paris and I weren't. at least from my point of view that is. there had been something about Paris that attracted me to her from the first day I met her. those eyes lured me in and locked me inside. her eyes were dark and stormy, but most of all there was a sadness in them beyond words. I didn't understand that at first but after hearing her story I understood it so much more. and it was at the moments like right now that that sadness disappeared for a while. it was my favorite thing to see. you could see all of the worries sliding off of Paris and her whole body just relax. she deserves it more than anyone and i'm glad I can help to give that happiness to her every single day....

or night for that matter. when I stayed with her during the night, her nightmares were visibly reduced. she was much more rested when she woke up in the morning and it did wonders for her recovery. in two days she was allowed to get out of her bed and walk around again. she still had to be careful with everything but it was a huge step. her memory was slowly coming back, but she had some trouble with it in the morning. in the morning she usually had a couple of hours that she didn't remember anything but that came back over time again. it was very funny to see that in the morning she didn't remember what happened between us at all and that afternoon she couldn't remember it any differently. it was like it always had been this way. sometimes she did remember us but just not the days before. I was with her every step of the way and that was good for her, at least that's what Shelby thought. she thought I was good for her in general. I must say that it was a huge relief that I was already so familiar with the family. they all practically already saw me as family and I did too. the guest room was practically my room. Shelby wanted to put my name on the door but I refused. if she actually needed the room once it would be very awkward to have my name on the door. I was so zoned out I didn't notice someone gently pushing me. I looked to my side and saw Paris staring at me very intensely, it was like she was trying to figure out what I was thinking of. I gave her a quick kiss and she smiled. for me these moments were the best in my life.
