Writer's P.O.V (6:30pm) Saturday

Emma Swan was just arriving at work and the bar was packed. She goes in and Ruby (her coworker) was freaking out because of how many people were at the bar.

"Ruby calm down, I'm here now" Emma tells her.

"Thank god, work the bar, I'll work the booths" Ruby says.

*couple hours later *

The rush had gone down, and there was not as much panic. Killian got off of work and went to the bar Emma was working at.

"Hi welcome to Toni's, what can I get you" Emma asks when she sees Killian sit at the bar.

"Rum, please" He says sadly.

"You okay?"

"Long day"

"Yeah it's been a long night here too, here you go" She says giving him his drink.

"Thank you," He says.

"What do you do for a living?"

"I'm a police officer"

"Really, that's pretty cool, I'm Emma by the way Emma Swan"

"Killian Jones" He says looking down.

"What happened today?"

"My partner got shot in the line of work, just like my brother and the bullet was meant for me"

"I'm sorry, that's horrible"

Emma's P.O.V

"Tell me something Swan"

"I don't have any," I tell him.

"Yes you do, I can tell, just tell me a story about you"

"Well my parents died in a car crash when I was a baby, my brother was 18,but he left me in foster care until I was 17. He tried to force me to be a doctor but I dropped out of college 4 years ago. And now I've been working here for 2 years"

"Wow, my turn right?" He asks and I nod. "Well I was born and raised in a small town in Boston and when I was 14 years old my brother was shot in the line of work. So I chose to follow him in his footsteps and become a police officer"

"Wow, your brother was loyal and thank you for your service" I tell him.

"Of course, I would do anything to keep people safe" He says.

"Want another rum"

"Please"

*couple hours later* (1:55am)

Killian and I have been talking for a couple hours now and I don't want to stop, but it's almost closing time and I'm wanting time to look for a new job that's during the day.

"It's almost closing time" I say to him.

"Have I really been her that long?" He asks.

"Yeah, if you come in here in 2 weeks I will not be working here anymore, I'll be working at a diner called Ruby's, which my friend/coworker here is opening so..."

"Well in that case I'll just give you my number then" He says. We trade numbers and he leaves, I close up and head to my very small apartment for the rest of the night.
