Meeting

Pakiramdam ko ay umabot na sa lalamunan ang puso ko dahil sa kaba. I'm following Onel and while were on our way back, I keep on glancing at the place where I left Andro.

Plastik ang ngiting ipinukol ko kay Onel nang lumingon siya sa akin at doon ko lang namalayang nakalayo na pala siya.

His eyes squinted and all I can do is smile. And I can't help but think of what happened earlier.

What if Onel saw him?

Humanda talaga siya sa 'kin mamaya. I will call him later.

The event miraculously ended and throughout the duration, my mind is battling for concentration and tried so hard to forget about Andro's gate-crashing.

Ilang araw ang nagdaan at naging normal naman ang takbo ng buhay ko. When I say normal, the usual duties of being the CEO of the company and at the same time, this endless flirting with Andro.

We often meet, without the knowledge of both my parents that makes it more exciting and uneasy.

Palagi ring wala pareho ang mga magulang ko dahil sa parehong dahilan na naman—negosyo. Unti-unti na akong nasasanay. Come on! Ilang taon na rin ang nagdaan at wala nang bago riyan. Simula pagkabata ay wala nang ibang ginawa ang mga magulang ko at tanging negosyo lamang ang inaatupag.

Dahil bata pa ako noon, madalas akong umiyak at hinahanap palagi si Mama. I used to have a nanny before, but when I turned around thirteen years old, when I learned how to take care of myself and rebel, she lost her job.

Weeks passed since both of my parents left again the country for same reasons. My ever clingy mother never really changed and still continue sticking around with my father.

Ang huling nalaman ko sa kanila, nasa business trip na naman si Papa. Iyon ang alam ko kaya laking gulat ko pagkagising ay nadatnan ko si Papa na nasa sala at dala ang balitang gumulat sa mapayapa kong umaga.

My father, seated like a mighty king—both arms rested on the armrest of the couch, sipping his brewed and black coffee, turned my brows into knots. Natigilan ako saglit pagkakita sa kanya hanggang sa tuluyan nang bumaba para tanungin kung bakit biglaan ang pagbalik niya.

He's wearing a grey three piece suit. Seryoso siyang nakatingin sa kawalan at hindi ko mabasa kung ano ang tumatakbo sa kanyang utak.

"Pa, you're here. What's the matter? Si Mama?" pukaw ko sa kanya na mukhang hindi pa rin namamalayan ang presensya ko.

He snapped and I saw how he almost threw the cup of coffee he's holding.

Nagulat ako sa kanya. Ilang beses pa siyang napatingin sa akin na mukhang hindi pa makapaniwala sa nakikita.

Mas lalo akong naguluhan sa kanya.

"Pa?"

He sighed and placed his cup on the glass table of our living room. Inayos niya ang cufflinks na mukhang nabuhol dahil sa naging reaksyon kanina at tumayo.

"Have you heard about the news?"

Nalito ako at hindi maintindihan ang ibig niyang sabihin. What's with the news? I'm not that idle to check the current situation of the country or so with the happenings around the world. He know that since he's the chairman of the board. Even though he's not physically present in the company, he has ears all over there.

"What about that? Tungkol saan?"

Naupo ako sa sofa, sa tapat niya. When he heard that from me, he started pacing to and fro around the living room.
