"If you are thinking of hurting that poor defenceless girl, then think again. I am not telling you twice."
She was right. I was defenceless and extremely weak to even stand up again on my own two sore feet. I was barefoot, only had a lime green jacket on with a vest underneath and some thin trousers. I had the side of my face on the wet green grass, so the woman couldn't really see my ugly face. Good...
"We can't help ourselves, she smells too damn good! Now Jessie, bite her!"
I let out a rough, raw scream which made my throat scream bloody murder due to how dry it was. I can't remember the last time I properly had a drink. I had only been drinking water which wasn't exactly good for my health as I needed vitamins for my body to grow strong again.
Suddenly, I heard a deep growl before I heard the brutal sound of bones snapping. Their bodies fell and hit the ground like they were lifeless dolls which they were now. "They are gone now. You can run along now." she told me before I tried to do so, but my legs wouldn't move. They were too exhausted and weak. I used my arms to lift myself up, before I began to crawl...
"No no. That won't do. Come on. Let me pick you up so you can recover in my house." she told me before my arms gave way and collapsed, causing my mind to be blank as I passed out before the woman could even touch me. A couple of hours later, I woke up completely mindless on what was going on. I seemed to be on a very soft, comfortable bed. There was some lovely fruit juice sitting on the bedside table, if only I had the strength to raise my arm and grab it...
Then quite unexpectedly, I heard a door open which made me jump and accidentally hit the glass and spilled it all over myself and the bed. I let out a small gasp of shock as the juice was quite cold. "Oh darling..." I heard the same woman say at me as I tried to wipe the juice off using the sheet of the bed. The woman then quickly came to my rescue as she moved the empty glass away from me, placing it on the window sill.
"Do you mind if I ask how old you are? And what made you be like this?" she asked me as she unzipped my jacket. "I am 19 years old, and my ex-girlfriend threw me out to be on the streets. I can't remember why, my head is so painful because of the unbearable headache..." I replied, before I let out a loud groan as the headache got worse.
"I got something that will get rid of your headache for you, darling. I need to get your bath ready first though. Okay?" she asked me in a soft manner. Nobody has ever treated me this perfectly before...
I continued to groan in pain as my head was literally pounding for some reason. I wanted to forget that this even happened. I was in a stranger's house for crying out loud. A stranger that wants to help me get better so I can move on with my stupid life. Where was I going to go?
I watched the woman pick me up slowly and carefully, before she carried me into the bathroom which was connected to the bedroom that I was resting in. She then placed me down on-top of a sink, before she undressed me fully. "What is your name?" I asked the woman. "My name's Hope. What's yours?" she asked me back. "Layla..." I replied, before groaning once more. Hope then picked me up again, before placing me back down into the bath tub which was full of luke warm water.
"Can you see me alright?" she asked me. Was she a nurse or something?
"Yes, I can. But, my vision is a tad blurry." I told her as I watched her nod. "I will be back, my poor butterfly. I am going to get your pills that you need to take." she said to me. And there she went. Wait, did she teleport? Because she was back literally a few seconds later.
"Right, my darling. Let's get you cleaned up and dressed in some new clothes." she told me before I nodded. Half an hour later, she was brushing my fresh brown hair. "Your hair isn't actually that bad. How long were you on the streets?" she asked me. "Two months." I answered.
"That explains it then. Can you remember why your ex threw you out?" she continued to ask me questions. "Not really. It escalated quickly out of nowhere."
"I'm so sorry, Layla. Do you want to stay with me for a few months until you get yourself a new place to start your new chapter without that bitch?" she then offered me which made me widen my eyes. "S...Sure! I would love to. You seem like a very nice person so why not?" I accepted her offer before I gave her a small smile at the mirror.
She smiled back before she tied my hair up into a neat bun, revealing my pale blue eyes. "I love it. Thank you." I said to her. "Now, I will have to give you my pair of clothes for now which is some simple blue jeans and a t-shirt. What colour do you want?" she asked me.
"I will let you choose, thank you." I answered, smiling at her a little as she seemed like a very gentle person. What if she was keeping a secret that nobody really knows about? Was I overthinking again? I need something to eat...and just in time too. My stomach growled loudly, which alerted Hope.
"Sounds like I got a very hungry...friend to take care of."
Hope was my friend? But, we have only just met. I am getting second thoughts about this but I had no choice but to live with it. Although...she was deadly pale.
