"What are you doing up? You do know that it's really early in the morning, right?" Hope asked me. I didn't know why I was doing up to be completely honest. I was just mindless on what was happening to myself. Yesterday was a nightmare. "I am going to start looking for a new job." I replied, turning my head to look at Hope, who was pretty worried about my mental health. Everything has been so fucked recently...
"Can you please go back to sleep? I am worried about you, Layla. You are not yourself." Hope told me before she gently grabbed my hand, guiding me back towards the bed, which wasn't at all neat. I couldn't really sleep. All I could think of was the incident that happened after I got milkshaked on.
"Do you want me to be with you until you manage to go to sleep? I know this is hard because I experienced this myself when I was a human." Hope asked me, trying to be kind when really she was a monster inside. "When you were a human? Do you remember your past life?" I asked her before she nodded. "I will explain in a bit more detail to you when you had your sleep. It is currently half past 4 in the morning. That is time for you to sleep."
"Sleep? What is that? I don't remember that word. Because I never had it when I got thrown out to live on the damn streets!" I raised my voice at her, making Hope quickly back away. I guess she didn't like me yelling at her...
"I'm sorry, okay? You can sit over there or something." I apologised to her, while getting back into my single bed as it was a guest room. "Sure." I heard Hope whisper, before I watched her go towards a wooden chair, sitting down on it gently and quietly. Her eyes were beautiful, I must admit. It has got a lovely glimmer to it, just like the stars. There was something about her though. She seemed...lonely. Completely lost. She was only trying to help me and I kept pushing her away, sort of.
Her hair was a charcoal black and short, but long enough for her to tie her hair up into a very small pony tail. Her lips were a pale red and her skin...her skin was very smooth when she hugged me when we first began to properly talk to each other. Maybe...just maybe...
"Please go to sleep. For me." she told me, her light blue eyes flashing purple once again. Why did they keep doing that? I will never understand. I slowly laid my head down on the pillow comfortably, before I gently closed my sore, tired eyes.
As I was beginning to sleep, I felt a soft pair of lips touch my cheek. "Sleep tight." I heard Hope whisper in my ear, before I heard a door close.
I then realised...
I felt safe and protected, and it was all thanks to Hope.
