// Sorry for the late update. I am in the middle of redoing my bedroom. I repainted two walls, and still need to do another one which will be a hassle due to my bed-board in the way. I know, this is quite random to talk about. But hey, enjoy the chapter.
I took a small deep breath as I waited for Hope to come downstairs so that we could go to Bubbles and Tea. It wasn't just the nail polish that ruined my job, it was also because I was clumsy. They called me the Clumsy Clown and they were right so I never said a word. Hope wanted to see what the cafe was really like, so she told me that we were going to it today. "Right, let's go." Hope said to me as she was walking down the stairs.
"What about...-"
"The taxi? It will be here shortly. In fact, I can hear the engine. Come on, out we go." she cut me off, before I took another deep breath and opened the door. I really didn't want to go, but Hope was kind of...forcing me to say the least.
Once Hope and I got into the car, we were on the move as the driver started to drive away. All I could do was to not really look at Hope, I just stared at the window. I don't get car sick, watching the trees go by makes me calm. Ten minutes later, the car stopped outside the cafe. "The building looks cute." Hope told me which made me want to laugh at that, but I just couldn't. The building was a pale pink and the furniture inside was also pink. It was quite popular when I was on the job as a waitress, because I was the person that helped the customers. I can almost taste those lovely strawberry milkshakes. I loved getting customers to try them.
"This is hitting you hard, isn't it?" Hope asked me before I turned to look at her. "I can brave it. They aren't really busy either." I replied before she nodded. She then paid the driver before we both got out of the car at the same time.
As the taxi drove off, the woman that shall not be named noticed me through the lightly tinted window. Then, I watched her walk around the counter and towards us. I quickly hid behind Hope. "Hello and welcome to Bubble's. Follow me to your table." she welcomed us before Hope grabbed my hand in a assuring manner as she followed the woman inside. Our table was near a nice little fireplace which wasn't there before. I sat down on the tall birch dining chair, in front of Hope.
The woman then turned to look at me, studying me over. "Are you the clown that I fired two months ago?" she asked me. "Clown? Excuse me?" Hope asked in a low tone of voice. "Yes, I am. Good morning, Mrs Bubbles." I replied to the woman that has been named but let's not say it again.
"What would you like, clumsy clown? Your favourite strawberry milkshake?"
I felt tears forming in my eyes. Being called a clown hurts me even more, especially in front of Hope who was not very happy. She was pissed, actually.
"Don't answer, Layla. I am going to take care of it for you, because she isn't worth anything in the entire fucking world." Hope ordered me before she reached in her black handbag, taking out her phone to call someone.
Then, I felt something cold pour down on top of me out of nowhere, making me scream out in surprise and shock. As soon as I knew what it was, just by the smell of it...it was my favourite milkshake. This made Hope go into overdrive as her eyes suddenly turned a dark red, or at least I thought so...
Literally in just a few seconds, there were bodies laying on the floor. Hope was panting heavily before she hissed at the woman. "I hope you will go to hell for what you did." she told Mrs Bubbles, who had her head to the side with a large bite mark on her throat.
Hope then turned to look at me slowly, her eyes were still a dark red before they flashed purple. Then, I was somehow close to a waterfall. "Hope, are you okay?" I asked her, who was actually getting undressed behind me.
"Yes, I am now. I couldn't stand that horrible woman calling you that. Awful human being..." she told me before she muttered the last bit under her breath.
Her eyes were a normal colour now, which was a light blue. But I knew what she was which terrified me. She was one of those things with sharp teeth, known as small knives in her gums and...they were also called fangs.
"I scared you, didn't I?" she asked me, climbing into the water. "Yes. Yes you did." I told her. "I didn't mean to do that, I am really sorry. It is just that..."
"What?"
"I want to take good care of you. Now, please get in the water with me. You smell of that rotting milkshake that they poured on you."
Rotten?! GROSS!!!
