Chapter 14 - A Mysterious Letter

Layla's POV

Today couldn't have gone better. It was like a dream come true, I never imagined being girlfriends with a vampire but hey, I was happy. I was sitting in the living room, eating some fruit until I heard a letter box being closed. My eyes moved over to the front door, before seeing a small red envelope just laying on the wooden floor. 

"Hope? Something came through the letter box." I called her. Within seconds, she was stood at the front door before she looked down and picked up the mysterious envelope. "I can't remember having a letter like this before. It has got our names on it..." she told me before she looked at the envelope carefully, trying to discover some clues. "And it is far too late for anyone to be delivering post." I said, before I got up from the comfortable chair and walked over to her.

"That is correct. Whoever posted this just now, might be dangerous." 

"What are you going to do with it?"

I then watched Hope rip the letter in half, then did it a few more times until it became tiny shreds. I gasped at my girlfriend, completely surprised at what she did. It could be something that we have to know about! What if it was important? 

"Why..." I began to ask her before she slowly wrapped her arms around me, embracing me. "It was an invitation, baby girl." she told me, before her lips brushed over my cheek. "To what?" I asked her, wanting to know what it was so that I can stop questioning her. "Trust me, you don't want to know. We are free living people now." she replied before she picked me up, my legs wrapping around her waist and my arms were wrapped around her neck as she took me upstairs to the bedroom. 

"You can tell me anything, Hope." I tried my best to convince her to tell me what it actually was, but she chose not to answer as she placed me back down. "It was an invitation to a party." Hope finally told me with her back facing me as she stripped down from her dress, exposing her beautiful body. I then watched her turn around to face me, there was some type of sadness in her eyes which I don't recognise at all. "Do you know who sent it?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "I prefer not to know, baby girl. Come on, get in bed with me. I need your warm body against mine to end this day." she answered before I took off my dress that I had on and went to grab a shirt to cover me...

"Didn't you hear what I just said? I said that I need your warm body against mine. I want to feel your warmth." Hope then told me, making me stop what I was doing and slowly walked over to the bed. I climbed onto it before pulling the duvet over me. I then watched Hope get in after, before her arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me towards her so that my body was fully touching hers. 

"Sweet dreams, baby girl." she whispered in my ear before my eyes automatically closed as I drifted off to sleep.
