Chapter 13 - Officially Girlfriends

// If I take a day off, that means that I am upset over my mum being gone. It is coming up to two months so yeah. Enjoy the chapter, please excuse me if this is messy. I was debating myself whether to do Hope's POV (point of view) or Layla's. And here you go...

Hope's POV

I checked my reflection in the mirror, making sure that my hair wasn't too messy for this special little first date. I didn't know why it was special, it just felt like it because it was our first one. I thought I was the dominant person in this perfect relationship, but it appears that my mate might be a switch. Why was that on my mind? 

I left the bedroom to go and see what Layla was up to. My lips then curled into a sweet, loving smile as I came closer to the back door, leading out to the garden and there was my perfect mate. It was like we were made for each other, that was the only way I can put it. She was just...stunning like a shining star. My mother used to call me a star when I was...never mind. Don't think of the bad memories, Hope. 

"For some reason, I know you are behind me." my mate told me before she turned around to look at me, her eyes immediately landing on my flowery red dress. It was quite long to be fair, I don't wear it as much but this was the perfect time to dress up fully. "Wow..." my mate began to say, her mind completely blown. I walked towards her, before sitting down on the picnic blanket which has never been used before.

"You look amazing. That dress really suits you." she complimented me which made me blush. The dress had two long slits at the bottom, that exposed my long legs. "I haven't worn this dress in many years. It was very hidden at the back of my wardrobe." I explained to her before my eyes landed on the waterfall below us, there was an ancient crystal cave inside of it, which was now my secret second home. I wanted to show Layla, but it just wasn't the time as she was covered in that out-of-date milkshake. 

"Is the sun too much for you?" Layla then asked me in a rather worried tone, making me snap out of my deep thoughts. "No, not at all. Vampires are immune to the sun, but they can't stay in it for too long otherwise their powers will get weaker." I replied before I started to hold her hand. Her eyes then met mine as she took a small deep breath, was she getting ready to ask me something? I didn't want to read her mind, so I decided to wait for what she was about to say or ask me...

"Hope, I know this may be too early to ask but, will you be my girlfriend?" 

If my heart was beating and alive, it would be pounding with pure happiness. I wrapped my arms around my girlfriend as I happily pressed my lips against hers. She widened her eyes in surprise before she softened them and returned the kiss. 

A minute later, I pulled away to give her some time to catch her breath. "Yes, Layla! Yes, I will be your girlfriend. I will be the best girlfriend ever." I told her before she let out a small excited squeal. I then continued, "We are made for each other, don't ever think it's too early to ask me that wonderful question." 

This made my mate grin at me, showing her perfect teeth. She was absolutely perfect. She was my everything. The next blood moon will be amazing as I will get to bring her to my second home to turn her. But, that was for a small while yet.
