// Sorry for not updating this book as much. I just had too much shit going on. Drama, grieving, worried about going back to college...you get it.
Layla's POV
My first day as a newborn vampire was strange, but incredible. I couldn't stop looking at myself, how much my skin has changed colour and my piercing red eyes. If it was a thing, I could look at someone and kill them instantly. I licked my dry lips, craving for something red until I felt a pair of arms wrap around me in an embrace from behind. I realised that I was sweating too, as my forehead was shining a little.
"I know, baby girl." she talked into my ear, making me jump a little at her voice. Turned out that my body was rather sensitive to the new me. I was wearing a loose dark blue t-shirt that went down to my waist. "What time is it?" I asked her before I watched Hope turn her head to the side to look at the clock, then back at the mirror. "It has just gone half past two in the morning. You should really get some rest." she replied. I then turned around so that I give a look at my mate.
"I am a vampire though." I told her before she leaned down to press a kiss on my head. "From my experience, I was told to because it keeps my powers under control. You will have yours very soon." she said before she picked me up bridal style quite unexpectedly as the bed was just right there in front of us.
Just about she was going to place me down on the mattress, a whole different...delicious smell hit me, making me widen my eyes in a bit of shock. "Can you smell that?" I asked my mate, before she nodded. "There is a human nearby." she replied with a small sigh. I felt my fangs begin to make a mind of its own as it started to elongate, making me gasp out in pain. "I need it. Please, Hope. I need..."
"Calm down, baby girl. They will go away." she cut me off before I let out a whimper as my fangs quickly went back to small ones. I then found myself slowly closing my eyes as the smell went away nearly instantly. Good...
I felt my mate then lay me down softly onto the mattress and pressed her lips against mine. "Good night, baby girl. I promise tomorrow will be easier." I heard her say to me before I felt her lay down as well, causing me to sigh happily.
I then finally started to sleep.
