Zach pov |after the football win

"What the hell Jennifer?" I said throwing her off of me. I was caught off guard by her kissing me out of nowhere. Jennifer and I haven't talked in a year then out of the blue she kissed me, what's up with that?

She stands there and looks at me then looks up at the stands. As I looked up I noticed Ashton leaving with Tamara. I hope he didn't see her kiss me.

"Do you like him?" She asked, her voice filled with disappointment as she turns back to me. I could still hear the team cheering from behind me, calling my name to join in. I didn't say anything to her.

I couldn't say anything to her because I didn't have to answer. We stared at each other for a few seconds, suddenly I was lifted into the air. As I was being lifted and tossed in the air feeling everyone's hands under me. The more I get thrown in the air, the quicker I start to lose sight of her. By the time I was put down she was gone.

After the game, back in the locker room my team was still hyped by our win. I sat quietly at my locker and stared at my phone waiting for a call. A call from Ashton, at least hoping that he will call.

"Hey Shorty," one of my teammates said as he sat down and smacked me on my back. You could hear the sound echo in the locker room.

"Hey Michael." I replied trying not to show the pain I was feeling in my back on my mind.

"Good job tonight. You coming to the party at Steven's house?" He asked while takin off his gear.

"Yeah, Imma come. Nobody will be home anyways."

"Alright see you there, just don't take all of the party." He winks

As I take off the gear my phone rings, it was Ashton. When I answers the phone he sounded different, it was like he was nervous to talk to me. He must have seen Jennifer kiss me out of nowhere.

"Hello?" I answered I suddenly felt anxious. As my heart is pounding from my chest.

"Hello? Hey, um, good game tonight," he said awkwardly. I could tell how nervous he is talking to me.

"Thank you, I wish I saw you after the game." I told him. I felt completely embarrassed after saying that out loud it was too late to catch myself. "I didn't mean-"

"It's okay, I wish I saw you too, but you were having fun with the team and your girlfriend, I-" My heart drops to my feet I was hoping that that situation with Jennifer didn't make things weird. I mean Ash and I are just friends.

"I don't have a girlfriend," I cut him off. I looked around to see some of the teammates get dressed and leave one by one. "Ashton, why would you think I had a girlfriend?"

"I saw you kiss her, I jus-" he tells me. His voice was shaking like he was upset about what happened.

"Hey Zach we are riding with Chase. You coming?" My teammate yells from outside the door.

"Hold on! I am coming!" I yelled back as I covered my phone speaker

"I have to go. Can we talk tomorrow?" I said. I didn't want to clear this up over the phone, I wanted to see him in person.

"Yeah, um sure."

I hung up the phone and quickly took a shower and got changed.

After the football game, my buddy Steven decided to have a party. there was a bunch of hot girls that showed up. I was dancing my life away, distracting myself from my feelings. The alcohol was everywhere. I was tempted not to drink.
