crush p.2 ~ [ jawsh ]

- carson's pov -

i look up from my phone due to hearing the front door open. i see travis walk in.

"hey dude, where've you been?" i ask. he tells me he was with y/n, hanging out at their place. "what were you doing?"

"oh we were just hanging out! you know, playing games, talking.." he responds. i nod, "that's cool." i proceed to scroll through twitter.

"hey carson?" i look back up at travis. "do you think there's something going on between y/n and josh?" he asks.

i raise my eyebrow, "uh, not that i know of? why, what's going on?"

his eyes widen slightly, but enough for me to notice. "oh nothing, i- i was just wondering!" he stands there, stiff in place until he starts walking to the kitchen with his head down, seeming like he's trying to avoid eye contact.

"okay..?" i mutter.

i knock on josh's door, to which he opens. "hey bud, how are you?"

"i'm alright." he responds. i enter his room and we chat for a bit. soon after, we decided to play super mario maker. as his turn comes up and he's playing, his phone chimes. "hey, can you check who texted me?" josh's eyes don't leave the screen. i pick up his phone and see someone's name: y/n . 

"it was y/n/n." i see josh immediately smile, making me smirk. 

"w-what did they say?" he stutters. 

"they asked if you could call tonight." i say, my smirk never leaving my face. "want me to say something?"

"yeah, tell them 'of course'." a slight bit of pink hovers his cheeks. i nod and send the message. i put the phone down and turn to look at josh. he still had his lips curved into a little smile.

"so, you guys have been calling, eh?" i ask.

"yeah?" he finishes the level he was on. "your turn." he hands the control to me, to which i gladly take. 

"you guys been talking a lot?"

"yeah, we talk almost everyday i think. she actually came over that one day."

"the day you didn't stream, correct?"

"yeah..?"

i place the controller down, "by the way josh, i've been meaning to ask you this," he looks up from his phone. "why didn't you stream that day?" his eyes widen like travis'; slightly but enough for me to notice. 

"oh, well you know," he begins, "i was tired and i didn't wanna stream so i- i took the day off, ya know?" i raise my eyebrow, "and then i asked y/n if they wanted to come over and hang out since we've been uh, talking a lot.. so we hung out?"

"jesus josh, just admit it." he closes his mouth. "what really happened?"

he stays silent for a bit. "okay fine." he plays with his hands. "i took the day off so i could be with them. i wasn't tired... i just really wanted to see them." he admits.
