Catchers p.o.v

I wake up and I'm leaning on marks shoulder. His head is resting on mine and our hands are intertwined together. I don't want to move, I want to stay like this forever. I can feel marks breathing quicken and his head rises. I look up at him and smile "hi" I said. Mark looks at me and doesn't say anything. I slightly grow nervous when he doesn't answer. " you ok?" I asked him. "Catcher" he says slowly. "Yea" I said nervously. "You can't do that again" he tells me. "Do what?" I whisper. Even though I know what he's talking about. "What you did last night. Please." He tells me. I keep quiet. "Catcher. Please". "I can't promise you" I say in my mind but instead i say "I promise". He smiles and puts his head back on mine. We're like that until we hear Megan get up. "We should probably start getting ready" I tell mark. He groans as we get up. I sit on the bed while mark starts to go the his drawer. "Do you want to shower?" I nod and get some clothes from my bag. I walk to the restroom but Megan's in there. I sit in the hall and wait form her to finish. She came out a few minutes later. I went inside and pulled off my shirt. I grimanced when I saw myself in the mirror. I looked at the bandage and peeled it off. The cuts still had blood on them but they stopped bleeding. I threw away the bandage and hopped in the shower. I quickly got dressed and got out. Mark was waiting when I got out, he went in. I went and put my shoes on and grabbed my bag then headed to the kitched. Megan was sitting at the kitchen table "hungry?". I asked her. She nods and I look through the fridge "Umm.. How bout some eggs?". I asked her. She nods and I turn the stove on. I look for a pan and I set it on the burner. I look through the pantry for some oil and I find a small bottle of it and put some in the pan. I wait for a couple minutes for the pan to heat up and then crack a few eggs in it. "Scrambled?" I asked. She nodded and I added a few more eggs for mark. When mark came into the kitchen I was already done with the eggs. "Hungry?" I asked him. He nodded and sat down. I grabbed two plates from the cabinet and put some eggs for them. I gave Megan hers and sat next to mark as I gave him his. "Are you going to eat?" Mark asked me. I shook my head and said "no I'm not hungry but thanks". He shakes his head and says "you need to eat catcher". "I don't want to" I tell him. "Would you do it for me?" He asked. "Don't do this please" I pleaded in my head. I didn't answer and grabbed my bag and left outside. I went to mark car and pulled my earphones out and plugged it into my phone. I turned it up as high as it could go and put my head against the window and closed my eyes. I stayed like that until I felt someone grab my hand. I jerked it back in surprise. Mark sat in the front seat looking at me. I pulled out my earphones and looked back at him. "I'm sorry" I said as mark said "I'm sorry" at the same time. We both got smiles on our faces and mark reached over and grabbed my hand again. This time I didn't pull back. "Where's Megan?" I asked him. "Still eating her eggs" he tells me. Right when the words leave his mouth I lean over and kiss him. I let go of his hand and put my hand behind his neck. The kiss stops when Megan suddenly opens the door. "Eww" she said with a smirk. Mark is smiling and I'm sure mine is as big as his. We drive Megan to school and then drive to ours. We park in our usual spot and get out. When we get to the entrance mark grabs me from behind and turns me around and kisses me again. "One more" he said with his goofy grin. I can feel my face heat up and I see that marks is also red. I wonder if we would tell the misfits about us. The only person that knows is Nicole. We walk into the cafeteria and sit with everyone. We talk until the bell and in that time mark had grabbed my hand and held it for a while under the table. When the bell rung he squeezed my hand then left. I had a small smile on my face as I walked to class. I went and sat at my usual spot and the class went by quickly. Since we finished early Mrs. Keller told us we had free time. I was about to pull my book out but then I saw Evy walking towards me. "Hi" i said as she walked up. "Umm did you want to meet up to study again today?"she asked, I thought about it and nodded. "Same place and time?" She asked. "Sure" I said. She nodded and walked off. The bell rung and I went to my next period. The class passed by slowly and when the bell rung I went to my next class which was home economics with mark. When I went in, mark was already sitting down. I sat next to him. I gave him a smile and he smiled back. The teacher walked in and announced that we would be baking cookies today. Me and mark grabbed our bags and headed to the kitchen. We listened to the teacher give instructions then went and got all the ingredients we needed. We wash our hands and i start mixing the things all together. when I finished Mark got a spoon and gets the dough and pours small clumps on the baking pan. While he was doing that I turned the oven on. When he was done we put them in the oven and set the timer. We made small talk as the cookies baked. "Are you busy after school?" Mark suddenly asked me. "I should tell him" I thought. "Umm... Yea I am. Im studying with Evy" I tell him. "I thought you said you weren't going to do that" he said confused. "Umm yea I'm doing it cause it'll help her with college applications and everything" I tell him quickly. He nods and smiles "oh ok". "Thank god he's not mad" I thought. "Why'd you ask?". I tell him. I can see his Adams apple move up and down. "Umm I was wondering if you wanted to maybe umm go out?" He said nervously. I took a breath and could feel my heart beat faster. "Umm I can be done studying at four thirtyish, where did you want to go?" I tell him. "I was thinking a movie maybe?" He tells me. "What time does it start?". I ask him. "It starts at six" he tells me. I nod and tell him "I would love to go with you" I hear the timer go off and I put a mitt on and then the pan out. The cookies look perfect. I wait until they cool for a few minutes then grab one. I hand it to mark "here try it" I tell him. He brakes it in half and hands a piece to me. I take it and pop it in my mouth. Its still warm and I see mark smile and he eats his. I lean against the counter. Mark takes a step towards me and I can see anxiousness in his eyes. I opened my mouth to ask him what's wrong but he grabs my head and kisses me. I suddenly feel the weight of everything fall off my back. The second he pulls back it comes back but with less weight. I look around but no one is watching us but the group next to us. They catch my eye and then quickly look away. "Are we openly a couple?" I thought. I take another cookie "another one?" I asked. He takes it and brakes it in half again. We eat a few more and wait for the teacher to come check them. He tells us we put everything up and go back to the classroom. We clean off everything and go sit down. I take my earphones out and plug them in. "Who will save me now. Dive in when I'm down" my music played. Mark took a earplug out and put it in his ear. When he heard what was playing he started humming to the song. The song ended and we listened to another. The bell rung and we got up and left. I gave mark a smile and then headed of to class. I went to class and put my earphones back in. I listened to music the entire class not caring about the assignment that was passed out. The bell ring and I headed to the field. Hailey was there and I went into my usual position. "So when were you going to tell me about Nicole" I asked. "The same time you were going to tell me about you and mark. She said. "Damn". I thought. Hailey always had a remark and I loved that about her. "Is that why you changed your hair and started to wear make up?" I asked. She nodded and I said "don't wear make up, you look beautiful without it". "Thanks catcher". I smile and see everyone walking to us. "Do you know who Alex likes?" I asked Hailey. "Evy" Hailey said and we stopped talking because Alex and the rest came up. Mark lifts my feet and sits under them like yesterday. "Get off my girl Nigga" nicole tells me jokingly. I sit up laughing and she lays down. I look at Alex and feel a little bit guilty about all of us together in relationships but not her. I go and sit next to her. "You and Evy huh?" I said with a teasing voice. She smiles and looks away. "Its just a stupid crush". She told me. "I can talk to her if you want" I tell her. "Since when do you talk to a barbie?" Nicole says. I totally forgot that the misfits don't know about the tutoring only mark. "I Umm been taking a little bit of tutoring from her" I tell everyone. Alex and Hailey nods but Nicole has a scawl on her face. "I thought you weren't going to do that".Nicole tells me. "Well I'm doing it anyways" I tell her. Me and her have a stare off and then she drops her gaze "whatever" she tells me. "Crap here it goes again". I thought. Me and Nicole always fight about useless things but we are the closest in the group and we always make up afterwards so I wasn't worried. "I'll talk to her today since we are going to meet up anyways for tutoring." I tell Alex. She nods and then smiles after a minute. "Can I come over around fiveish" I tell Nicole. She nods and that's when I know I'm forgiven. I go and sit back next to mark. "I'll meet you at the movies" I whisper to him. He nods and grabs my hand. He holds it on his knee and I'm happy for a few minutes. "Anyone have that paper in social studies?" I ask and pull the assignment I didn't do last period. Alex nods and says "yea I had it this morning too before you. Here let me see it" another thing about the misfits is that we all copy each others work when we don't do it. She writes down all the answers and hands it back. "Thanks" I tell her. "Welcome". She tells me back. We talk about what we were going to do this weekend and I didn't know whether to tell them about my date with mark when he says "me and catcher are going to the movies today" Nicole gives me a look that clearly means I have to go to her house. "Can I go over to?" Alex asks Nicole. "Only my god yes! And you should see if you can spend the night. You can stay over to catcher" Nicole tells us. I nod and tell catcher teasingly "are you sure you can handle cooking for yourself?" He gives a small smile and says "I'm pretty sure I can manage" "can you take me to get a car?" I asked Nicole. "What!?" Nicole, Alex and Hailey all said together. "Damn that was weird" I thought. "Damn that was weird". They said all at once. We all started laughing and I was getting red in the face. "Yea I'm going to see if i can buy a black SUV from some guy in town" I tell them. "Yea I'll take you". Nicole told me. The bell rung and we all got up. I saw Hailey kiss Nicole and I was really happy for them. I wish Alex finds someone too. Since mark is a inch or so taller than me I tippitoe and give him a kiss. His hands go on my waist. I pull back and give him a smile before I go with Nicole to our next class. We sit in the back and when class starts Nicole attacks me with questions. "What are you wear for your date to marks? What are you watching? Who asked who? What time does it start? Do u love him? When did you decide to get the car?" "Oh god this bitch tho" I thought to myself. "Umm I was hoping you can help me get ready for the date.I don't now. He asked me. Six and yesterday" I tell her. "You didn't answer my fifth question" she tells me. "I didn't forget I ignored it" I told her and I stared at the teacher. She's silent and drops it. We talk until the bell rings. Im glowing in the rest if my classes. Maybe its because of me and marks date or our kiss or that im beginning to feel happy, my cuts have mostly healed and I don't feel the need to do it again. "Maybe I'm getting better" I thought. Part of me doesn't want to have so much hope because hope only get me so much more hurt in the end. The final bell rings and I go walk out of the school. I see mark and walk towards him. "Hey cutie" I tell him when I get to him. I hold out my hand and he takes it. We walk towards his car and get in. We go and pick up Megan "where are you meeting Evy?" Mark ask me. "Umm can you take me to Starbucks first" I ask. He nods and goes to these drive thru. "How may I help you" a voice came from the intercom. "Get two vanilla lattes and whatever you and Megan want" I tell him. Since mark has been basically paying for everything I have more money than usual. Mark orders everything and he drives up. I take my wallet out and hand him the money. "I can get it catcher" he tells me. "No I will pay for it" i tells him. I give him a look and he looks away defeated. He pays and we wait for our drinks. Our drinks arrive and I tell mark to go to the park. On the way there I hand Megan her drink. "O-m-g". She says "I love Starbucks". Mark parks in the parking lot and I tell mark "I'll meet you at the movies". And tell Megan "have fun at your friends" "thanks for the Starbucks" she says. I open the car door and am half out when mark grabs my hand and pulls me inside. "I almost spilled the drinks!" I told him. He leans over and gives me a small kiss. "Sorry" he says. His stupid grin makes my slight anger dissapear. "Its fine" I tell him and I get out of the car. When I enter the park Evy is already waiting. "Its French vanilla" I tell her. She smiles and takes it. "Thanks but I honestly don't want to study right now" she tells me. "Me either" I tell her. She sighs in relief and says with a grin "let's say we studied but don't". "You just wanna chill?" I ask. "Yes" she says and she takes deep breath. "Something on your mind?" I ask. "Tons" she says. "Wanna talk about it" I ask. She hesitates then goes on a full frenzy about a lot of the problems she's been having. Most of it is usual things like school teachers or gossip or parents mad about curfew. But then she starts taking about someone she likes and I perk up. She starts saying that she thinks they like her but they are giving her mixed feelings. "Who is it" I ask she shakes her head and says "I can't tell you because you'll tell her" I roll my eyes and say "I only talk to like four people at school who am I going to tell...unless..." I trail off in my mind "unless I talk to her" I finish. She looks away and I start to feel excited. "Oh my god oh my god ohmygodohmygod" I started screaming. "You like Alex!!!!" I tell her. "Shh! keep it down" she tells me. "Why?". I said. "Because no one knows and I'm not even sure myself" she said. "I know how it is" I tell her. "Yea people have been talking about you and mark and yalls PDA in the kitchen" she tells me. "Why are people interested in us" I ask. "Some people actually like ya and others don't " she says. "No one has shown us any attention" I tell her. "Its because of mark" she said "he's really nice and he's cute and people like him" "oh that's makes sense" I thought. "Alex likes you too" I tell her. "You should text her" I tell her. She looks undecided so I tell her "you want her number or no?" I mentally laugh as she scrambles for her phone in her bag. I give her the number and I look at the time "crap I need to go can you give me a ride?" She nods and we head to her car. "Where am i taking you?" She asked. I told her nicoles address and we drove there in silence.
