Going Strong

"I can't believe Simon and Holly are finally a couple." Chloe sat in shock.

"I know." Harry agreed.

"Tonight's the first time I'll meet her. I think for loads of us except JJ it will be."

"You'll have to let me know what she's like." Harry said slightly nosey.

"Bringing your new girlfriend to your ex girlfriends gig is a bit i don't know. Strange." Chloe laughed.

"Yeah but you two are friends again, you've both moved past it and It sounds like Holly is pretty laid back."

"The last thing we need is Holly being some crazy jealous girlfriend. Hopefully she's calm."

"What like you?" Harry smirked.

"What part. The crazy and jealous or the calm part?" Chloe laughed as she brushed her hair.

"Can I choose not to answer?" Harry joked.

"Go away." Chloe laughed.

"I'm sure she's fine. Girls get along."

"Not with their partners ex..." Chloe hinted.

"It'll be fine."

"I'm telling you. This will be a shit show." Chloe huffed.

As the evening came chloe repeated her usual routine, showing up an hour early. To her surprise everyone was already there. Their drinks in hand and laughter bouncing.

"Hey." Chloe said surprised as she walked over to the table catching a few eyes.

"Chloe you're here!" Simon smiled. Chloe's gaze drifted towards the girl sitting next to him. Chloe couldn't help but stare until she felt the touch of human contact, Simon had gotten up and hugged her.

"Oh." Chloe lightly chuckled.

"This is Holly." Simon pulled away as he turned to introduce his girlfriend.

Chloe took in her beauty, automatically making comparisons. Chloe noticed some similar features between her and holly. The brown hair and figure. But she couldn't help but notice the differences too. The deep brown eyes, her flawless olive skin, the ability to pull off such casual clothes. She sat comfortable in a plain red hoodie paired with black leggings, gold jewellery hanging from her neck and wrists.

Chloe forced a smile as she watched holly throw a smile her way, highlighting her perfect teeth, complimented by her natural plump lips.

"Hi." Holly spoke, her voice slightly husky as if she had a cold.

"Hi." Chloe mumbled back.

"Well this is nice." JJ awkwardly commented causing holly to laugh gently.

"Shut up jj." She played with him, surprising chloe further.

Chloe hasn't met holly before. Up until this point she was just a name. To witness how she'd grown close to JJ made it suddenly more real, she was making an impact. Chloe couldn't help but feel insecure that she'd be pushed out, again.

"Nice to see you JJ." Chloe smiled.

"As always." JJ smiled back, almost reassuring chloe.

"Sit down then." Simon laughed as they all shuffled over to make room.

"Thank you." Chloe smiled.
