"You do know what this means, right?" Father says, pacing in front of his throne with his hands behind his back. "You do know what your actions have forced me to do?"

"Lucifer, we have not fully spoke about this-"

"Envy," snaps the Emperor, stopping in his step to look at my mother. "She is not in control. Her emotions are besting her already and she has injured two people! One of them a student. Not any student, but Wrath's son!"

"She is not ready to go, she has only just found out about her powers and she has not even got her wings," mother fumes, standing up from her designated seat at the long table. "She will be powerless against them holy monstrosities!"

"Those 'holy monstrosities' are angels Envy," he seethes. "I understand your hesitation to this, but I promise you if she doesn't train now she may never truly know how to control it. There have been angels in the past who had to be killed, Envy-killed. My daughter is powerful, she is showing signs of greatness yet you're hiding her from her potential!"

"Oh, shut it!" Envy snaps, eyes flashing a vibrant, lethal green. "You know this is just you securing your next line to the throne. Your precious 'heir'. Well what about her other responsibilities, huh?"

I let out an annoyed huff and both of their eyes fall onto me. Yes, I'm annoyed. I have every right to be; they're talking about me as if I'm not even here, about my life. Surely I should have an opinion, perhaps I want to go to a school full of pure-blooded mongs. Okay, admittedly I don't.

"Well?" Asks Queen Envy, raising a pointed brow.

"Well," I mimic and push off from a pillar. "You both bicker worst than toddlers. Also, if you have conveniently forgotten, it is my life you're discussing. I deserve an input."

"You are young and foolish," mother hisses. "Your opinion is invalid."

I click and point at her, "Rude. Exactly why you don't have any friends. My point is, what if I want to learn how to control my powers and remain in Blasphemy High."

"Are you mad?" Mother laughs coldly.

"If I am, it certainly runs in the family."

"What has gotten into you?" Mother scolds harshly. "Don't you dare talk to me like that."

"Envy, hold on," Lucifer raises a silencing hand. "What are you suggesting, daughter?"

I take an encouraging breath before speaking, "I want to learn my new powers now. I'm sick and tired of lashing out at those who could be or are a threat. I don't want to hide who I am to those in Blasphemy High whilst still attending it. I just want to reach my full potential and not be a victim."

Envy rolls her eyes and turns away, elegant jade grown swishing around her ankles.

"That is a potentially good idea," Lucifer mumbles, scratching his chin in thought. "Your studies in your school are important in order to fully understand Hell. Yet I'm sure you can spend a day or two at the Divine Academy."

"Days?" mother and I say in sync.

"Yes," father nods. "Angel training isn't as simple as it seems. Telepathy, flight and light. You seem to have a natural capability with telepathy, which makes sense since it is seen more in Archangels. Flight, well your wings will come through soon."

"More like in just under three months."

"No, in two weeks actually," Mother corrects.

"What?"

Mother sighs and massages her temples, shaking her head she simply sighs, "Demons carry offspring for six months. The original demons were jealous of Lucifer and I, they knew we had a secret relationship for a couple of months. So I stopped seeing him, only to find out I was carrying you. So I hid you, for two months after the relationship ended just to ensure there were no suspicions of it being Lucifer's child. I announced you two months after you were born. If they were to find out, that would bring jealousy. With jealousy comes... messiness."
