The Siblings Goodbye

"They're getting closer what do we do Ollie?" Alex asked her brother as she watched the helicopters disappear behind trees, more than likely looking for a place to land or drop their soldiers safely off. "What we have to," he replied. "Okay but like what does that even mean. Have we suddenly turned into merciless killing machines?" Lily asked, concern and sarcasm lacing her voice. "Yes," Oliver started to say but Alex interrupted him. "What he means Lils, is that we have to do everything we can to protect our family and our home but we will not resort to killing, okay?" she filled in. "Okay, if you say so," Lily replied, looking down at the ground, in a poor attempt to hide the fear creeping up on her face from her siblings. "Listen I know you're scared but you stick with the kids in the kitchen and protect everyone you can and everything will be okay," Alex said as she lifted her sisters face up so she could look her in the eye as she said, "We love you okay don't ever forget that and once this is all over we will find you again just like last time." As the words left her mouth, tears threatened to spill but she knew she had to keep to keep it together for her little sister. 

The three siblings shared one last hug before they parted ways. Lily running the opposite way from the battlefield, Oliver running in the direction that his friends went and finally Alex who didn't run to protect her friends but she ran towards the one place she knew she could find Clancy and stop all of this before anyone else that she loved died.
