Leaving Day

The day had finally come for my departure. It had been a long awaited day. Never in a million years did I think coming home I would of had this much fun and missed my family this much. I had to admit, I was wrong for what I did all those years ago and I was glad I had come home to make amends.

"You call me soon as you arrive at home." My aunt said as a few tears fell from her eyes. My stuff and Alana's was all packed in the Range Rover. She pulled me in for a long bear hug and I held onto her.

"Thank you for everything Aunty, you've done too much for me." I held onto her a little longer.

She shook her head and held my face in her hands, "you are my daughter, I have to take care of you even in your stubbornness."

I laughed and nodded and hugged her sadly again, "don't worry this time I'll be booking my own flights."

I went around and hugged each and every family member.

"I'll miss our morning banter, make sure you check on me!" Lucas smiled sadly as he pulled me in for a hug. My big little brother was growing every day and I was so proud of him.

"I will little bro." I hugged him.

I said my byes to Josh and Jason and kissed both their cheeks which made them shudder and I laughed.

"Come here little sis," Isaiah said as he pulled me into him. He held onto me protectively and kissed the side of my face. "You need anything you call me okay? Money, support, uni work, we'll get it done okay?" He said and I nodded.

"Thank you." I kissed his face and I hugged Ida next.

"See you at the wedding sis." She said and I smiled.

I grinned as I saw little Maya squirm in Parker's arms. I kissed her forehead and said my good byes, we had taken so many pictures together yesterday even though she had no idea.

"Good luck with everything sis." Parker hugged me.

"Oh you come here and make sure you call me every day!" Jacqui said teary eyed as she pulled me from Parker's embrace and held me. Everyone slightly laughed as I stumbled but she held me tight.

"Every day Jacqui?" I teased and she nodded with tears in her eyes but smiled.

"Every day." She said.

Finally I got to Mason who was coming to the airport with me anyway. His face was stoic, as if he wasn't trying to show any emotions at all.

"Are you ready to go?" Uncle Fernando said. He was personally driving us. I looked at Alana and she looked at her watch and nodded.

"Yes Uncle," we headed outside towards the car. Everything was packed inside and Alana sat upfront. I sat next to Mason in the back seats. "Bye guys, I love you." I waved through the window and they all waved back.

Uncle Fernando pulled off and we headed to the airport. I moved closer to Mason and held onto his hands. He stared out the window and the whole car was silent. I looked up to the rear view mirror and Uncle Fernando looked at me worriedly. I swallowed but didn't say anything. I pulled myself into him a little bit more then Uncle played the radio faintly.

"Hey Mase," I whispered. He refused to look at me but I continued to play with his hands. "This isn't like last time." I said.

This time he swallowed and he finally turned his face to look at me.

"Mase this isn't like the last time." I said again. "We'll talk every day."

He nodded and let out a breath, "I'm just really going to miss you. I'm going to miss being able to come into your room and tell you about my day and hanging out and reading together and praying together."
