The wedding celebration had literally gone on for hours and seeing as it was basically at home, there was no rush for it ending. I had crashed around 3am because my eyes couldn't hold on anymore. Isaiah and Ida had actually gone to their hotel room way before that but everyone else just wanted to party.
The next few days everyone spent sleeping, recovering and tidying up.
With just a few weeks left to Christmas, we were on winter break and there was no point heading back to France so I'd be here until the New Year.
Isaiah had officially moved out and they had travelled for their three part honeymoon. There first destination was Bali. Without him, the house felt quiet but slowly the nest was leaving and I could see Aunt Verna was sad about it as much as she wanted her kids to grow up.
"Do you want a smoothie babe?" Mason asked as he stood behind the counter cutting fruit.
I nodded, "yes please, would love one." I rubbed my eyes and sat opposite him.
"You still tired?" He asked concerned. I had been feeling super drained the last few days, more than normal and no matter how much I slept, it wasn't going away. I hadn't been sick in a long time so it was an unusual feeling for me.
"Just a little," I smiled with a tired smile.
"Lana, A quelle heure est votre vol?" (what time is your flight?) I asked her. She leaned onto my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around her.
"13hr." She responded, she was dressed ready for the airport.
"I'll miss you, at least you'll be in the hot sun." I pouted.
She pouted too and giggled, "You know I hate going back home but my mother practically summoned me. I am going to miss our Christmas getaway trips."
I hugged her. "Thank you for being ma soeur (my sister.)" Alana had literally been there for me when no one was.
"We were totally suppose to be in Maui." She pouted.
"No doubt if Aunt Verna saw that on my bank statement she would have definitely come to collect me." I said and we all laughed. Each year we usually flew to somewhere in Europe but this year we were actually going to branch out.
She looked at my phone, "well my uber is here. I'll be back before New Year though. Where are we celebrating?" She asked me.
I looked up at Mason and back to her, "we'll get back to that." I smiled and she nodded.
"Bisous." She kissed my cheeks.
"Bisous cherie." I kissed her back. "Text me when you land."
"You know I will." She waved Mason off and headed for the door. Josh and Lucas were doing their own thing and Mal was busy back at work. It was basically just us in this house as Jason was away with Aunt Valerie.
Mason blended the fruit together and handed me the smoothie. I smiled as I took it, "thank you." I said and took a straw.
"So where do you want to spend New Years?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"We usually always go to Paris which is why she asked." I said.
He nodded, "so do you want to go to Paris this time? I'm game with whatever you want to do." He leant over the counter.
I shrugged and rubbed my leg, it had been hurting a bit lately but I'd been walking it off. When I was in one place, it caught up.
"We'll see, we have a few weeks." I smiled.
