Leaving Me

Theodosias P.O.V

I felt all my fury come up as I took a deep breath, father should know why I was there.

I heard footsteps as I faced the window as I was sitting on Phillips bed looking outside. I heard Phillips voice from downstairs as I heard the door open.

"Theo? Baby? " I felt Phillip place his hand on my shoulder as he said, " I'm so proud of you." I turned. I didn't want to hear it.

He squatted down in front of me said, " I mean that babe. Seriously, I understand everything that your going through." I sighed said, " Do people still bother you cause your with me?"

Phillip said, " Yeah, but I ignore them. They just waste their time." I sighed as I  busted into tears said, " I...c-can't take it anymore! " Phillip said, " You want to be a activist right?" I nodded as he caressed his fingers over my cheeks wiping my tears away asked, " Then why don't you start?" 

I looked down as I was quiet said, " I....don't know where to start though..." Phillip  said, " Well, why not ask the person who was leading everyone in the protest? " I  said, " I'm just..afraid to go back....I want to be an activist, I just don't want my life to go on the line cause people'll get mad and put threats on me and stuff.... I just don't want any of that."

Phillip said, "Well, what else are you supposed to do?"  I said, " Surrender." Phillip said, " You are not giving up! I don't want you not to be free. I want you to be free and I don't want anyone hurting your people..."

I  said, " Your black. Take my place." Phillip said, "Umm. I'm going to be a concert pianist actually, " I looked at him and got up walking away.

And he didn't tell me? He's planning on leaving me to be a piano performer? I don't want to be alone. I want to be an activist but I want him to be there to see me do it. I ran my hands through my hair as I sighed walking to my car.

I sat in the drivers seat as I rested my head on the steering wheel as I heard someone knock on my window. I turned to see who it was. It was just Phillip. I rolled down the window as he said, " I'm sorry, I should've told you."

He got in on the passenger side as I didn't look at him. I sighed as I crossed my arms over my chest as Phillip sighed explained, " I know your mad, I don't blame you. I should've told you and it was stupid that I didn't and I just...Didn't want to stress the baby." I asked, " What baby? I'm not pregnant!"

Phillip asked, " Y-Your not?!" I said, " No! Why'd you think that is it because....Oohhhh." I rolled my eyes and sighed. Phillip said, " Oops. I'm so stupid."

I said, " Your not stupid. I'm just mad that you didn't tell me. " Phillip said, " W-Well....I'm leaving tomorrow..."

I asked, " Tomorrow?!" He nodded said, " I should've said something about it. " I said," Well..." Phillip said, " I'm sorry Theodosia. I just....I don't know. "

I sighed as he got out.

I asked, " Where are you going? " Phillip said, " Just need to talk to my mom. " I said,"Okay..." I said," I'll be at the dorm." Phillip said, " Okay."

Yes, Phillip does have another car. I don't know why. He just does. I sighed as I drove off back to Juilliard.

Phillips P.O.V

I wasn't really talking to my mom. She knows that I want to marry Theodosia. She said that I could. Dad too. I just need to get her father's blessing. Since I was leaving her, she'll be able to see me. In Paris. I'll be performing there so I wanted to propose there, anyway, I walked inside and saw Mr Burr talking to my parents as they looked at me. Mom and Dad walked upstairs together Ill. They're to old for that... I sighed as Mr Burr said, " It looks like you have something to say. " I said, "Yeah, it's about Theodosia. " Mr Burr asked, " What about her? " I said, " W-Well...I really love her and want to be with her forever. I won't hurt her or anything, and I was wondering if I'd be able to marry her....is that okay with you?" Mr Burr thought for a long time then said, " Well, Phillip your a good boy...You do have my blessing. So, you can marry my daughter." I said, " Thank you, " He said, " Your welcome, " Mom came downstairs said, " Come on, I'll drive you Phillip. " I said, "Ok."

We got in the car, as I was quiet. She said, " So?" I said, " He said, yes." She said, " That's great!" She gave me a hug. I asked, " Are you okay? " She said, " It's just...your growing up so fast. First thing I know I'm teaching you piano next thing I know your going out to play for the world." She got teary eyed. I said, "I'm not leaving forever Momma. I'm always going to be your son." She said, " I know." She smiled and ruffled up my hair. I gave her another hug as she seemed better as we drove talking about my future, Theodosia, and for some reason...children. She said, "Theodosia talked to me about children so I just want you to know what to expect since I don't want you doing anything crazy..." I said, " I'm glad you did. But I was confused but it makes since now." She smiled as we arrived.

She said, " Didja tell Theodosia?" I nodded said, " She's mad at me about it. I don't blame her." She asked, "Why? " I said, " I told her last minute. " She said, "Oh."  I said, " Bye mom. I love you." She smiled said, " Love you too Pip." She kissed my forehead as I walked into the school and to my dorm. My teachers knew what was happening and gave me all my assignments for the rest of this year. Which was my last one. When I got inside, I saw Jamal, Zuri , and Theodosia all talking to eachother as she grabbed my hand leading me toward her room. I asked, " What's going on?" She said, " I'm...so proud of you Pip." I asked, " I thought..." She said, "I am kinda disappointed you didn't tell me sooner, but you fulfilling your dream. And I'm proud of that. I know I've been a bit...in the way but if you want to be a concert pianist, then go ahead and do that. I'll be here cheering you on and-" I interrupted her by kissing her passionately as she seem surprised and kissed me back.

As I said, " Thank you. " She said, " I mean it. I'll be here cheering you on. " I asked, " What about you?" She said, " Well, I'll be an activist. Jamal and Zuri said, they'll help to." I said, " Good. I hoped you'd say that, " She said, " Oh, you knew. " I smiled said, " Sorry for leaving you. " She said, "Your not. Not forever. " I stared at her as she smiled said, "You'll be back."
