Chapter 9: don't stop now

Lauren's POV

  I followed Asher outside, Dani's eyes never left me and I could feel her staring at the back of my head as I walked out. I regret nothing from today.

  Asher took me to an alley way, out of Dani's sight. Perfect place to kill me. "Do you know who I am?" He asked quietly. I nodded.

  He pressed something on his phone and my phone chimed with a message. "Dani gave me your number. You can reply me from there," he sighed. "Or you could actually talk for once?" He pleaded. Right, he has never heard me speak.

  "You're parcially involved with my brother's death," he said. I shrugged. "You were the last one with him before he died," he continued.

I know I basically killed him but you don't know the whole story...

  "I tried to hate you, I really did. But I couldn't seem to," he sighed. "Liz and I lost our main support system because of you," he explained. "We tried to have you go hanged or something," he admitted. "But the court didn't have enough evidence that you did it so they couldn't kill you for no reason," he said.

  "I requested for the security footage for that night but I had to dig really deep," he said. "That took a while so in the meantime, Liz and I just plotted to made your life miserable," he said. "Then Dani came, it was a great opportunity to make your life hell," he said. Right, that... Kinda wanted to forget about all that.

  "I finally got back a result form my search," he said. "It's only a 10 second audio clip and that's not enough," he said. He looked me directly in the eyes. "Would you be willing to tell Liz and I the full story? I think Dani and your sister would like the full story too," he pleaded. How much did Dani say about me?

  "This has been really hard for me and Liz. We lost a brother and we haven't fully accepted it," he sighed. He raked his hand through his hair. "Please?" He asked. I sighed and nodded.

  "Thanks, really," He smiled. "Now to the next matter at hand," he smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Listen here honey," he said. He took my hand in his and examined my nails. Uh...

  "Dani and I are only on this date because of Liz. And Liz has developed several... Issues after losing our brother so we couldn't say no," he explained. I took out my phone to text him.

You and her had sex tho

  He nodded and laughed. "Sweetie, 2 things to know. Number 1, I'm as gay as a rainbow. And number 2, I'd rather date guys but I'd also rather have a girl in bed. It's weird. I don't like girls but I rather have sex with a girl, no feelings attached, but date a guy. Got it?" He laughed. I nodded.

  "Ok now... I could literally see the sparks flying between the both of you!" He smirked, "When are the both of you gonna go on an official date?" I felt my face heat up and I look away. "Ooh~ she's blushing!" He teased.

  "I could ask her for you?" He said. I stabbed a finger rat his chest and he laughed. "Chill Lauser, I won't," he snickered.

  "Now let's go back to my date. Give this another 20 minutes or something and I can drive us all back," he said. "We cool?" He asked. I punched his shoulder playfully. "That hurt," he whined. "Grow up," I laughed.

  He stared me in disbelief. "Holy shit! Did you just talk? What the fuck?" He exclaimed. I smiled. Don't get used to it. I nodded and hit him again. "Your voice is so sweet, Love!" He squealed. I nodded and he led me back to the restaurant.

  "Hey, I'm surprised you didn't kill her," Dani joked. "Lauser and I just had to sort out some differences," he said, patting my head. I elbowed his stomach in return. "Ow! Is she always this violent?" He winced. "At the start," she laughed. "But on a more serious note, you really different hurt her? Like the last time you kicked her in the ribs outside my dorm?" She asked.
