Gunvolt's POV
I woke up on the ground, next to a closed shutter. Odd. Last I knew I was.... falling out of a window?
The next thing I noticed was my Septima, proven by the electric crackle as I clenched my fist. Even better, I didn't sense any abnormalities in it, meaning Kyle must have fixed it.
My eyes widened as I realized something quite frightening. My Septima was stronger than before. Amplified. But Joule isn't here...
Ashton must have made another clone. Damnit!
I also noticed my gun wasn't with me. Must be in the room I was in before. But, seeing as the shutter was down, and I couldn't destroy it without my gun, I moved forward.
....Only to see another lowered shutter, effectively locking me in. What about.... I did have my Septima, after all!
I mentally shrugged as I used my Septima enhanced strength to break open the window.
"Septima, don't fail me now." I muttered nervously as I jumped out of the window, slowing my fall with the flashfield.
My original plan was to float down to the ground, two floors down. That stopped, however, when I saw Gibril, unconscious, slumped against a doorway.
Keeping the flashfield up, I hovered to that floor, and kicked at the window until it broke. I entered the building once more.
Making my way to Gibril, I put a hand on her shoulder as I used Galvanic Renewal, effectively healing her.
Then she woke up.
In the span of a few seconds, I was on the floor, Gibril on top of me with claws extended, her eyes glowing red.
"You lied to us! I told you what happens to people who trick me."
Gotta talk her down before she claws me....
"Gibril, just listen to me!" She shook her head angrily. "I did listen. Then you pulled this. Did you even care!?"
I activated my flashfield, causing Gibril to backflip away, wincing. Now that I wasn't about to get slashed, I could talk.
"Gibril, I did this to get my friend's Septima back. Well, that was my reasoning. Until I got here."
"I noticed things about the adepts here. After Zonda 'improved' the Glaives, things would happen. Desna's visions were falsified. Teseo became entranced. You, Gibril, were cursed with monstrous bloodlust after you got angry. You felt it earlier."
"You don't feel it now, do you? Right now is probably the first reasonable anger you've felt in years. I did what I came here for, Gibril. That's my reason."
Gibril, anger now lessened, stopped to contemplate what I told her. After a while, she spoke. "You're right about the manipulative Septima. And I now know you wanted to help your friend. But... why didn't you tell me about this? About you?"
I'd be honest. "I didn't know how loyal to Zonda you were. If I told you, and you reported me to Zonda, it would jeopardize everything. That's all of it. I did it all for a good reason."
Gibril sighed, studying me. "I get that now. But, you still tricked us, and me. I'm not sure I trust you after that."
I nodded, accepting this. "That's understandable."
I then shot her a grin. "If you can ever trust me again, come find me. As long as you don't attack me again, that is."
"You made up. How cute."
We spun around, seeing a man standing there. Before we could do anything, he spoke again. "Your Septima. Give it to me."
His voice had no emotion in it, perfectly monotone. Nevertheless, I responded. "No thanks, guy, I just got this back."
He gave me a disinterested look. "Not you. I have yours. The girl."
I frowned, moving beside Gibril. "If you want her, you have to go through me."
"Very well then."
He then raised his arms to the sky, then gently touched the ground. His eyes then glowed purple. He pointed at me.
"Control."
I then felt the control of my body slowly fading away. I would've shouted a warning to Gibril, but he took my mouth first. smart.
Distantly, I heard him speak. "Don't kill her. I want her alive."
I then felt my mind slip away....
