"So you're Gunvolt?" I was back in my room, talking to my assumed roommate. The guy had brown hair, and a unique orange eye color. "I am."
The guy nodded. "Good. I wanted to speak to you." He then stood up, giving me the side eye.

"You know they're watching you, right?" I decided to play my role.
"Of course they are. I'm new in the family. They want to see my progress."

The guy rolled his eyes, walking to the corner of the room. It was then I noticed he was covered in scars. The guy covered a camera I didn't even notice was there. He turned to me, amusement on his face.

"Let me guess. Ashton put you on this terrible plan?" My eyes widened. Just who was this guy...?

"I'm sheeps 3. The guy that replaced you."

"Just who are you?" He smirked.

"A friend. Asimov wouldn't like it, but we could do our missions together?" I frowned seriously. "Just what do you bring to the table?"

"My Septima. The Septima of Light. Most importantly, I can reverse the glaive, and bring back things that faded into the light."

I nodded thoughtfully. "If I bring you the Glaives, you can reverse them?"

"Yes. But that shouldn't be your top priority. I'll give you a hint. The adepts here aren't as brainwashed as you think." Then he just walked out of the room. So. In order to get the Glaives, assuming that they were in the sealed lab, I needed trust.

It was then I noticed a holotablet on the desk, and upon opening it, I saw it had two things currently. It had an empty mission objective list, and a map. Following the map, I made my way to Desna's room.

The door opened as I approached, as if she was expecting me. Not sure what I walked into, but the room glowed with a recently used Septima.

"Any progress?" She was frighteningly calm about this. But, she said she wouldn't blow my cover. "I want to know if I can accept a more serious mission from you, to gain trust." Her eyes glowed blinding yellow again, and she gave me another deep stare.

Squirming uncomfortably, I managed to ask, "What are you doing when your eyes glow like that?" The look stopped suddenly, as if she was suprised I asked her.

"I was listening to the stars." My eyebrows rose. "What do you mean?" I hope she isn't crazy... "They tell me what will happen, and whether someone is lying to me. That's how I knew about you."

That explains things. Still, there was something bugging me. "After they take your Septima at the door, what do they do with it?" She looked thoughtful.

"They are taken to the lab, where Zonda looks them over." Oh. Oh, my.

She must have caught on to my sudden distress.

"What aren't you telling me?"

I took a deep breath. "Desna, have you ever considered that Zonda tampers with the glaive?" Her eyes narrowed.

"What do you mean?"

"When did your Septima first allow you to see things?"

Her eyes widened in shock. "Immediately after Zonda examined my glaive..." she whispered in disbelief.

"Teseo!" Desna shouted suddenly. He materialized in front of her. "Get Gunvolt's glaive from the lab, Now!"
He nodded, disappearing again. She turned to me.

"Hopefully we can get your glaive before Zonda examines it."

"What will you do now, Desna?"

She looked troubled. "I don't know what to think... I'll try to find out more, in the meantime, go see Shadow for that mission."

I nodded, leaving the room.

Shadow's POV

I was in the lab, preparing Gunvolt's glaive, when Teseo appeared in front of me. He looked around for something, then looked at me, seeing the glaive in my hand, and looked startled. He quickly covered it up, though. I narrowed my eyes.

"Get out of here, troll. No one is allowed during the examination."

Teseo shrugged. "The fortune teller wanted Gunvolt's glaive. Dunno why."

"She'll get it when we are done. Go away." He disappeared.

The secure passage opened, Zonda entering. "Ready, Shadow?" I nodded, preparing my Septima. "Just tell me what you want done."

She placed a hand on the glaive, examining the contents. She opened her eyes. "A power dampener. Just in case." I nodded, ready to do so. "Limiting Curse." I looked to Zonda. "That's all for now. Add it to the subject." I frowned. "I believe in you completely, Zonda, but can it handle the strain? We're only half way done."

She smiled reassuringly at me. "Don't worry, my dear Shadow. I'll make sure it works." I nodded, confidence restored, and went to do my part.

???'s POV

I opened my eyes, one of the few times I was actually awake, and saw the shadow-man enter the room.

I mustered a glare. "Haven't you done enough?" The shadow smiled.

"I don't see why you complain. You're stronger than most adepts, even now. Why reject your new power?"

I chuckled. "I don't reject the power. I reject what you'll make me do with it." The shadow shrugged. "Fortunately for us, you won't be able to resist." He pressed a button on the machine I was hooked up to, and the world faded to black....

Gunvolt's POV

I found Shadow as he was exiting the sealed room, an unsettling grin on his face. He turned to me. "Gunvolt, my friend! What can I do for you?" I took a step back. "You're in a good mood."

He gave another gleeful smile. "Just got back from my favorite job of the day!"

He grunted suddenly, holding his head. He opened his eyes a moment later, looking stoic once again.

"You wanted a mission? I can give you one."

I gave him a concerned look. "You alright, Shadow?" He looked suprised at my concern, then nodded silently.

"I'm ok, Gunvolt. Your mission is to defeat a Sumeragi swordsman with Gibril." I smiled. "I can do that!" As I walked to my room to prepare,  I let my smile fall. Something is terribly wrong here.....

A/N

Two in a day! I'm on a roll! So, we see some sort of problem with the Seven, and Zonda is doing something to the Glaives....

That unknown POV? That person is EXTREMELY important in the story.

Looks like GV is hunting swordsman again, albeit with a Crazy lady. Remember in the second game her... attraction to GV? Wonder what could happen now that they aren't enemies? Hehehe...

Things are heating up! See ya next time!
