GV and I were chatting as we, (Mostly GV, I'm a terrible cook.) Made homemade pizza. There was one thing I wanted to know. "Gunvolt?"
GV looked to me. "Yeah?"  "Is Gunvolt like, a codename, or something?" He sighed.

"I don't know. When Asimov first found me, I didn't have any memories.  I knew I hated Sumeragi, that was all I needed to know." My blood boiled as I heard GV's story. Erasing someone's memories... how low could they get!? It was then I heard Gunvolt speak again.  "I don't think I want them back." I looked, suprised, towards GV. He smiled.

"I have my own life, my own memories now. I don't miss my old ones."  I raised an eyebrow.

"At all? What if you had family? A wife?" Gunvolt's smile dimmed. "My face is pretty well known as the 'Azure Terrorist' of Sumeragi's. No one tried looking for me." I frowned. "I'm sorry, GV." Gunvolt sighed, then smiled brighter than before.

"It's alright. I have you guys. That's all I need." I smiled slightly, until he asked, If I have any loved ones. "It was mentioned that I had a girlfriend. I did." Seeing the question in his eyes, I added, "She isn't dead, though she doesn't know me anymore. Amnesia, like you."

Gunvolt looked both suprised and shocked. "There's more."

"I've got a younger sister, too. Pretty sure she's alive. But, I can't see her ever again." As I continued, I'm sure he could hear the venom in my voice.

"But as a specific order from Asimov, I had to be pronounced dead by the media.  To her, and most others, I'm dead a month over. 'No attachments."

I angrily snarled the last sentence, leaving Gunvolt to digest what I said.

After a moment, he smiled. I was about to start yelling at him, when he spoke. "We aren't Quill agents anymore. Just freelancers. Why not see her?" I looked, stunned, to Gunvolt. I hadn't even thought of that.

"Only if you're with me. Kinda hard to meet up with someone when you're 'dead'." He smiled. "Of course I'll help you.  I'm your friend, after all."

It was then that he asked me, "Tell me about your sister." I smiled.

"Crazy overprotective of me, distrustful of anybody that talked to me, Has a sarcastic attitude to most people, but caring to people she likes. loves animals. Her name is Alexandra."

It was weird, thinking about her after all this time. I tried to forget about her, because Asimov told me to. I dont want to forget anymore.

The oven dinged, so Gunvolt took the pizza out to cool, setting it on the counter. Then the doorbell rang, and I went to get it. I opened it to see Zeno. He smiled as I let him in. "Moniqua is on her way, Ashton."  I smiled. "Alright then. Any word on the person we're trying to find?"

Zeno became serious once again. "I'm looking into it, and I'll check out some leads soon. But right now, Ashton, is pizza night. No mission talk on pizza night." I nodded. The door rang yet again.

Gunvolt appeared around the corner and got the door, telling me and Zeno to set the table. Once in the kitchen, Zeno looked like he wanted to say something. "Something to say, Zeno?" He hesitated. Strange for him. "The girl you were talking about-"

"My sister?" He nodded. He took a deep breath. "Alexandra is the Sumeragi swordsmen that Asimov is hunting."

My world froze. How could my little sister be with Sumeragi? She always hated people like them. My sadness turned to a calm fury. Asimov knew for damn sure who she was to me. I turned to Zeno calmly.

"Where?" He wordlessly put the coordinates in my comm. I moved to the mission prep room. Getting stopped by a worried GV on the way.

"Where are you going?" He questioned, moving to block my way.

"Asimov is hunting my sister, Gunvolt.  Step aside." He moved out of the way, asking me to be careful. We'll see. After getting ready, I checked the coordinates. Sinners Row, huh? Interesting. I then set off to the coordinates.

Sinner's Row, 30 minutes later.

After exploring ground level, I decided to go to the rooftop. Following the sounds of fighting, I arrived to see Asimov in a fighting stance, my not so little anymore sister across from him. "Stop!!!" I yelled, getting in between them both.

Asimov smiled. "Ashton, good of you to join me. Ready to kill another Sumeragi menace?" I blinked, shocked, at his offer. I was struggling to remain calm. "No. I will not kill my sister, and neither will you. Stand down." Asimov laughed.

"You aren't my enemy Ashton. Move." My response was to snap my fingers. A clone of a 10th gen appeared beside me. I turned to it. "Guard Alexandra." I turned to Asimov, drawing my sword. Asimov sighed, removing his glasses. The same pure blue met my eyes once again.

I wasn't stupid. I was terribly weak compared to him. But nonetheless, I was going to try. I ran towards him, swinging at his head. I blinked in shock as it went through him. He caught my arm. "You are hopelessly unmatched compared to me. Crashbolt!" A lightning strike hit the ground directly on top of me. I collapsed, twitching, to the ground.

I was awake, but unable to move. Some sort of paralyzing effect. I watched as he stepped towards me, saying, "With your Septima, you are too dangerous to Stay an Adept any longer." My eyes widened. He couldn't actually do that, could he? I heard someone give an unhinged sounding laugh.

Someone new was walking towards me. Judging by the way Asimov didn't react at all, he appeared to be on their side.

He kneeled, putting a hand on my forehead.  "Septimal Synthesis." I felt my power fading as my summoned 10th gen disappeared. I watched, startled, as an orange glaive, like the swordsman used, appeared in his hand. Asimov spoke up.

"A glaive wasn't part of the deal." The man smiled.

"I'm giving you a world, for adepts alone. If you want me to take Septima, and stay in your service, I get to keep what I take."

"Very well." The man looked to Asimov again.

"The girl?" Asimov smiled. "Make her a loyal Quill adept, my dear Shadow."

The man, Shadow, looked excited as he moved towards Alexandra.

She looked confused, but got into a fighting stance as Shadow approached. She raised her hand. "Shockwave!" She shouted. Everyone, except Shadow, fell to the ground. He laughed.  "Cute." He pointed his finger at her. "Nightmare." She collapsed with me as I lost consciousness.

'Shadow's POV

I watched as the girl fell unconscious with the boy. I turned towards my employer as he put his glasses back on. "Anything else?" He looked thoughtful.  "Erase his memories of what happened here." I smiled.  "Already done, sir. With me, you get quality." He nodded, telling me he would call me when he had another mission.

I examined my new glaive. That makes four. Once Asimov left, I decided to call my master.

"Ah, Shadow. How's Septimal collection going?" I smiled as I heard her voice. "Fantastic, Zonda. Once I get the rest of the glaives, we will proceed to phase two. If that's all, I have to put these glaives into the subject." I then hung up.

This was going so smoothly.....

A/N

And here we are! This certainly took a.... different turn. Guess it doesn't really follow the game in some places. We got a new character, Shadow! I'm going to use Shadow for the more nefarious things in the book.

I'm not Trying to make Asimov a bad guy, but in game he went from nice to crazy with no In between.

Ashton seems to have lost his Septima. I have a reason for this. If Ashton decided to be with Sumeragi, he could just make Another Joule, which just gives no headway for Asimov. Removing his Septima fixes this.

Will Asimov get his Septima back? What are Zonda's plans? Come back to find out!
