Kyle's POV
Lisette was concerned for the mission. I could tell.
"So Kyle, how will we do this?"
I grinned. "You get the robes, I get Malik's big scythe, yell boo. Simple."
She gave me a horrified look. I laughed.
"You jerk, she is eight! You'll scare her to death."
I smiled. "First, she is nine. Second, we walk in the dark with cloaks, looking for young children. How is that not creepy!?"
She smirked. "It's a matter of perspective."
We arrived at the address. I rang the doorbell. Lisette glared at me. "Don't you dare."
The door opened. I leaned into the cloak, keeping my voice monotone. "We need a sacrifice."
Lisette gaped at me. "You ass!" She shoved my off of the step, and I went flying away with a yelp.
I was laughing hysterically as Lisette was apologizing to the poor guy. He gave us a stare, lingering on me.
"No trick or treaters." The door slammed.
I was still chuckling when Lisette rang the door again, keeping a hand over my mouth for good measure.
"What?"
"We're looking for Mytyl."
He nodded. "Wait here."
I smiled at Lisette. "See? Works every time!"
The guy came back with a rifle and a robot. I stopped laughing.
"Who are you?"
Lisette spoke up again. "We're part of the Order of the Keepers. We need Mytyl."
His eyes narrowed. "Why?"
I interjected. "We need her to fix the Garden of Harmony."
He was about to slam the door again, but, strangely enough, the robot spoke for us.
"Hey, boss? I think we should let them."
The guy turned completely to face the little robot. "And why is that, Lola?"
"It seems legitimate to me, and we always have the laser array!"
We were kinda just standing there, listening to the guy talk to his robot.
The guy turned to us. "You can enter. And I'm not lying about the lasers, and my maid will shoot you if I tell her to. I'm Copen."
I glanced at Lisette with a concerned look. She returned it.
"So." I began cheerfully. Lisette glared. "Are you the crazy brother or the conspiracy theorist father?"
Lisette facepalmed.
Copen glared at me. "Are you the psychotic boyfriend?"
I grinned, throwing an arm around her shoulders. "Yup! We're great at parties!"
Lisette shoved me off with a huff, but she was smiling. Now it was Copen looking disturbed.
"You stay here, guy. The saner one talkes to Mytyl."
I nodded, calmly sitting on the couch as Lisette talked to Mytyl. Copen sat across from me.
"Once you talk to her, what do you plan with Mytyl?"
I was serious now.
"You and her will come with us for a week, bring any medical equipment neccessary. I promise nothing will happen to her."
