relationships aren't easy. especially if your boyfriend was the team captain of your school's volleyball team that practices from the moment school ends to 9pm late at night. you, on the other hand, ran the school's student body as the student council president.

frankly, you were unsure if this relationship would even work out. the both of you were incredibly busy, your schedules barely lined up and although you prided yourself in being fairly outgoing and outspoken, it really frightened you that kita thought you were too annoying or perhaps, just undesirable.

you weren't terribly anxious although the thought lingered quite often in your mind. although your boyfriend always reassured you that despite the lack of time spent together, he loved you regardless.

it was another long day after school. you ran your hand through your hair and let out a deep sigh as you went through the many piles of paper on your desk in the student council room. it was already late in the afternoon, around 4-5 pm and most of the students had already left for the day.

you finished another set of paper and placed it onto the ever growing pile of paperwork. you leaned back in your chair and sighed again. the work was draining but it was worth it, most of the time.

you felt your shoulder muscles relax as hands massages your back. gently, rolling their hands over your tight muscles. you let out a soft moan at the sensation which was followed by a chuckle behind you. "you're enjoying this huh?"

your body froze before turning around to see kita standing behind you. he threw his hands up in defensive, a sly smile on his lips. you pouted before wrapped your arms around your boyfriend's waist. "you scared me kita," you mumbled into his chest.

he chuckled softly, you felt his body rumble lightly. "did i? sorry my love," your eyes trailed to the duffel bag near his feet and back at the clock in the corner of the room. "i thought you're suppose to be at practice," you said, raising an eyebrow at him.

"coach cancelled practice- we're getting a break today." you smiled at this, "does that mean we have the rest of today together?" he nodded, leaning over and gently pressing his lips against your forehead. "let's go home." he muttered.

you frowned at this and glanced back at the pile of paper on the table. "i still have-"

"work on it tomorrow, we have time." kita leaned down, gently pressing kisses against your neck. "i miss you..." you flushed at his soft gesture and pulled away from him, embarrassed slightly.

"s-stop..." you grumbled, placing a hand over the kisses he left on your neck. "i have a reputation to uphold."

he chuckled at this and picked up his duffel bag and your bag. you sighed and followed him out of the school- walking home with him. the sun was slowly setting- orange, pink and red painted the sky. you smiled at this sight as the two of you crossed the bridge to your home. kita lived a few blocks away but he always walked you home being the gentlemen that he is.

"hey kita," you asked, peering at the team captain. his eyes glanced over to you and gave you a soft smile as he responded a simple 'yes?'

you picked at your nail lightly as you mumbled quietly, "so like- uhm... are you mad at me...?"

kita's smile turned into a frown as confusion appeared on his face. "why would i be mad at you my love?" he asked, certainly confused.

you glanced away, looking at the ground before stopping in your tracks. "well, you see... it's just, we haven't been talking a lot lately... and it's been- hard," you mumbled, obviously uncomfortable. your heart was racing- afraid of his answer.

you closed your eyes before talking a deep sigh, sucking in the air afterwards to calm your racing heart. "i-i... i don't think im the perfect girlfriend you envisioned and although i-i really like y-you... i just, i don't know..."

suddenly, arms wrapped around your waist, feeling the warmth of kita's body against you. you opened your eyes to the beautiful sunset and your boyfriend hugging you tightly.

"i love you more than anything. im upset at myself that you feel such a way. you are more than perfect my love, i love you dearest."

you felt a lump form in your throat at his words, tears slowly welling in your eyes. kita's words was so heartfelt and loving- it warmed you.

you hugged him back tightly, nuzzling into his neck. "god i love you," you muttered to him as kita pressed another kiss against your temple. "i love you too."

i went on a small hiatus from writing but im kinda back now lol,, also note that i will be updating whenever i feel like it simply because it's hard to keep a consistent schedule and not feel pressure
