"there's a villain raid happening near karasuno high school! we need assistance right away! there are civilians in the school!" you touched your ear piece, responding to the distress call. "understood! crow is on her way!"

you jumped atop the roofs of buildings, flying and swiftly flying through the air towards the place of assistance. you glanced at the flashing lights of police sirens and the sound of it going off.

"crow right?"

you froze and immediately ceased your movements and glanced around. there was no one around you.

"look to your left, the red brick building- second floor window."

your eyes scanned the surroundings once again before following the instructions of the mysterious voice. you noticed a figure in the window of the mentioned building but you couldn't quite make it out.

"who are you and what do you want?" you spat out, touching your ear piece. a chuckle echoed from the other end that was followed by a click sound.  you heard a loud explosion go off  behind you which caused your instincts to kick in, spinning around on your heel to see the water tower behind you had exploded.

"you're next crow," your heart skipped a beat as another click sounded from the other end. you immediately jumped away from the ledge you stood on and onto the next building. the area of where you stood was now blow up into smithereens.

"w-why are you doing this-" click. your eyes widened as the ground beneath you slowly crumbled and you braced yourself for impact but that never came. instead, you felt two strong arms lift you into the air.

your eyes opened to see a green force field around you and a rather familiar face and he certainly did not look happy.

"HOW MANY TIME MUST I SAVE YOUR DUMBASS FROM DANGER?! YOURE WORSE THAN HINATA AT THIS." kageyama yelled at you, his brows furrowing in anger. you scoffed, rolling your eyes at him.

"im not worse than hinata- stop being a drama queen." you grumbled at him as the two of you made it to the next building before the two of you glanced at the building you were just on. kageyama stared at the blown up rooftop hard before setting you down on the ground.

you eyed him carefully, watching his body language before he noticed your staring and raised an eyebrow at you. "what?"

"nothing- thanks for saving me- i guess." you mumbled a quiet 'thanks' to him. kageyama huffed, "if you weren't so useless- i wouldnt have to use my shield on you."

you frowned at this before your surroundings started to dematerialize and disappear. your teacher, coach ukai walked over- clearly disappointed in your performance.

"i would've done fine without your help!" you yelled back, folding your arms over your chest. ukai glared at the two of you which shut you guys up immediately.

"both of you- im disappointed in your performances." you bit your bottom lip and hung your head in shame and kageyama- being the edge lord that he is- scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"you both have great potential. why do you two bicker like children? this is specifically why i assigned you two together." ukai continued, scolding the two of you.

"how are you two expected to pass the hero exam if you continue to fail like this?"

both of you were at risk of losing your sponsorship which meant that you or kageyama could be kicked out of the hero academy if you don't pass the exam.

you opened your mouth to speak but kageyama interjected before you can speak.

"it's not my fault! (y/n) should've been able to protect herself! i would've been able to pass if it wasn't for her!" ouch- his words stung like a needle. kageyama was always harsh with his criticism but this one hurt in particular.

you were emotional than expected and quickly excused yourself from the room as the tears threatened to fall. you really didn't want to cry in front of him and have him make fun of you further.

you quickly left the practice augmented reality room and turned the corner as the tears cascaded down your face like a waterfall. 'stupid tobio- stupid stupid stupid' honestly- why did you fall for him? why not hinata who is a LITERAL ray of sunshine? or yamaguchi?

"(y/n)!"

you heard your name being called from behind you. your body froze as the familiar voice grew closer as your name left his mouth.

"there you are," kageyama approached you. a frown on his lips although you couldn't see- you were positive that he was frowning at you.

"leave me alone-" he gently grabbed your arm and pulled you into a hug which cut your words as he embraced you. "hey, im really sorry."

your eyes widened at his words. your mouth was open but unable to find the words to express how you felt. "i-i... what is said was extremely uncalled for. i was just- scared of losing my sponsorship and potentially the chance to become pro."

"you didn't have to push me down for that," you grumbled, still upset at him. kageyama sucked a sharp breath in before responding, "yeah... i know. im a selfish bastard. im sorry."

"tobio you really hurt me," you muttered against his chest, your tears soaked into his shirt as you clenched the fabric in your hand.

"ill make it up, i promise." you felt his lips press against your forehead which caused your cheeks to flush red. "ill take you out to a nice dinner okay?"

"im still mad at you," you said in a hushed voice, still very red from his kiss. kageyama chuckled lightly, "how can i make it up to you?"

"kiss me more," you responded quickly which shocked him slightly before he nodded, pressing a few more kisses onto your forehead. "good enough?" you shook your head before a soft laugh left your lips. "it's never enough."

hi, im not back just yet but im slowly releasing one shots that i had semi written before my hiatus so i wanted to post this :)

this was a shitty 4 am one shot sorry- i spent literally 10 minutes on this :/

i hope it's not too bad,, i hope everyone is well and safe ! i hope you guys are safe along with your family. school is starting soon for me so updates will be even slower... but ill try my best
