Description: Sirius catches a cold and Remus has to take care of him.
Story:
Sirius had a cold and he knew it. He was determined that no one else figure out he had a cold because he was a tough guy, but it turned out that his boyfriend Remus was entirely more observant than Sirius had previously anticipated.
The four Marauders were sitting in the common room on the couches in front of the fire. Sirius was laying upside down on the couch with his feet in the air, staring at the flames from a different angle.
The blood was rushing to his head and his head was pounding more than it had been previously and he decided he better sit upright. He had to blink spots out of his eyes and he held his head in his hands to steady everything for a few minutes and he missed the look sent his way from where Remus was sitting in the armchair with a book.
It was a few minutes later when Sirius was leaning against the arm of the couch miserably and Remus voiced his concern. "Maybe you ought to go up to the dorm, Pads."
Sirius jumped, realizing suddenly that Remus was well aware of his cold and had been keeping an eye on him. Sirius flushed and he couldn't tell if it was the embarrassment or the sickness.
They had a brief staring contest, a battle of wills. Remus won and Sirius sighed, standing to go to the dorm and lay down. He swayed on his feet, dizzy, and Remus followed him closely up the stairs.
Sirius got out of his uncomfortable school uniform and crawled into bed. Remus slid in next to him and wrapped his arms around Sirius. Sirius struggled to turn his head and look at the werewolf. "You'll get sick," he protested, though he really didn't want Remus to leave.
Remus shook his head. "Get some rest."
Throughout the night, Sirius woke repeatedly to blow his nose. Half of the time his nose was runny, and the other half he was so stuffed up he had to breathe through his mouth.
By the time he was getting his quidditch robes on the next morning (Saturday), his nose was red. Remus told him it was cute, but Sirius didn't think so.
When James and Sirius returned from practice later that morning, Sirius's whole face was red and his eyes were watering as he shivered. Remus was waiting for him with one of his sweaters and holding up the blankets on his bed for Sirius to crawl in with him.
Regardless of the fact that Remus's body temperature was typically on the colder side, Sirius curled into his side and allowed himself to be taken care of. The two of them spent the whole day in their dorm room, or else curled up in front of the common room fire.
Sirius napped for most of the day while Remus read, waking up to blow his nose or sneeze. Remus loved Sirius's sneezes. As apposed to James's sneeze (he could shake the whole castle with his dad sneezes), Sirius's sneezes were like tiny little explosions.
Sirius was embarrassed to leave the dorm that weekend because he didn't want to ruin his tough guy reputation by being sick, so James and Peter brought them back food from the Great Hall and brought the two of them hot chocolate when Sirius couldn't stop shivering despite his face feeling really warm.
When Monday morning came around, Sirius was feeling much better. Aside from the stuffy nose, he was ready to face classes.
Then, later that day in Transfiguration, Remus sneezed beside him. Sirius looked over and saw that Remus's little button nose was red and his eyes were droopy.
"Silly wolf," Sirius whispered to him, nudging his boyfriend gently. "Maybe you ought to go up to the dorm."
