"So what was so important that I had to stop playing with [Name]?" Emma asked, crossing her arms.
"Playing?" Ray scoffed. "More like you were being weird and confusing her."
"Wha-" Emma sputtered. She got up in Ray's face, an obvious pout on her face. "I was trying to teach her how to play dolls!"
"Well, you weren't doing a good job," Ray shot back. Emma growled. Norman raised his hands, pushing the two apart.
"Come on guys, we shouldn't argue," he said. Emma reluctantly got out of Ray's face, crossing her arms and sticking her tongue out at him. Ray rolled his eyes, pulling down his lower eyelid and returning the action. Norman sighed at their antics. Sometimes he felt like the only responsible one between the three.
"Anyways," Norman said, crossing his arms. "Have you noticed how [Name] acts around me? I... I think she hates me."
"Norman, she doesn't hate you," Emma was quick to assure. Ray, however, wasn't as reassuring.
"Yeah, she seems dead terrified of you," Ray said bluntly. "What'd you do to her?"
"Nothing!" Norman said defiantly. "At least, I don't think I did anything."
"Do you want me to ask her?" Emma asked.
"No!" Norman said. He saw Emma's shocked face. "I mean, I can't just ask her 'Hey why do you hate me?' because that makes it seem like I care about what she thinks about me and I barely know her and it makes no sense for me to care about her opinion about me if I don't know her and then everything will be awkward and then she'll hate me even more and--"
"Woah there, calm down," Ray said, raising his hands in surrender. "You don't know that she hates you."
"You just said she was terrified of me."
"No, I said that she seemed like she was terrified of you," Ray corrected. "We don't know anything for sure."
"She flinches every time she sees me--"
"Norman, I am trying to be positive for the first time in my life," Ray said. "Stop being pessimistic. That's my job."
"But all of the signs point to her hating me, or at least being scared of me for something I don't know," Norman sighed. Emma bounced on the balls of her feet.
"Then become friends with her!" she suggested. "Fix what you did!"
"Become friends with her?" Norman asked. "I can't do that if she won't even let me near her."
"That's what we're here for!" Emma said, swinging an arm around Ray. "We'll help you become friends with her!"
Norman's eyes widened. He smiled at his two best friends. "Thanks, you two."

"[Name]!"
The mentioned girl looked up from where she was watching Marin and his friend Robert ram toy cars against each other. She had been utterly confused by this action as well, she saw no beneficial value in destroying toys.
Emma trotted up to [Name], a determined glint in her emerald eyes that [Name] immediately registered as dangerous. Ray watched from a distance, a smirk adorning his features.
