Today was a day full of hustling since Quinton was unable to pick Declan up from school. Kolson calmed down and started ignoring me again. The only communication we had was professional text messages through our computers to discuss work.

Delcan was feeling his best today. The doctor said three days ago that he would be fine and it isn't anything major. He suggested that maybe Declan was sensitive to it all which would make the effects stronger on him. However, he prescribed two medications and it's been working wonders for Declan.

After picking him up from school and getting some food, Declan was out the second he hit the bed. I showered and changed from my work outfit to pajama shorts and a hoodie before getting on the bed, ready to take my own little nap.

"Siya come meet this guy. He helped me out of a very sticky situation with some fans!" Sage called. I groaned and got off the bed, making sure I wasn't looking too messy before making my way outside. I froze at the door when I saw his frame. His back was faced to me but I knew exactly who it was. Sage eyes shifted to me and Kolson turned around to see what she was looking at. When his eyes landed on me, I've never wanted to strangle Sage more.

"Qatsiyah," he smirked. His eyes dropping to my bare legs and as if it hurt, he quickly kept his eyes on my face. "You both know each other?" Sage confusingly asked. "Yes, we know him," my eyes snapped to Quinton. He just came out of his bedroom and well with his fists clenching at his sides as he glared at Kolson. "Quin, good to see you again," he playfully smiled. "Get the-" Chelsea quickly ran outside to stop the chaos. "Baby, relax," Chelsea said with deep meaning. "I'm so confused. This is Kolson as in Verrin's cousin and your boss?" Sage finally figured out.

"Yes, he is," I sighed out the confirmation. Why did Sage bring him here? There was a rule to take guests elsewhere because of Delcan. Why was Kolson so special she had to break the rule? "So he's engaged," Sage mumbled. My eyes studied her to see her frowning slightly. She's disappointed. Holy crap, was she interested in Kolson? "Yes," Chelsea confirmed. "Now how about you leave, it isn't the best time for visitors," she continued and I fully agreed.

"But I was promised dinner," Kolson commented. "That most certainly will not be happening," I flatly assured him. His lips parted to speak before his eyes dropped and he paused. "Who's this?" Kolson asked instead, his eyes staring at something behind me and something very short. Then I felt the tug on my leg.

Oh crap.

My eyes met with Delcan's sleepy ones as he tugged on my leg. "You woke up," I realized and frowned. "Sleep with me carebear," he mumbled, yawning. I picked him up effortlessly and attached him to my side. He wrapped his legs and arms around me before snuggling his head into the side of my neck.

"He's adorable," Kolson complimented with softened eyes, staring admirably at the boy in my arms. "This is Delcan, Quinton, and Chelsea's son," Sage didn't fail to say the lie. Oh God. Kolson looked at me and I swear, I was going to explode with the way he was looking at me. I know what look. "The name..." he trailed off and I almost winced. Of course, he remembered that. Why wouldn't he? "They couldn't think of one and I offered, it didn't mean anything to me to keep it a secret anyway," I simply stated.

"Carebear who is this?" My little boy asked me, very much still awake. "He calls you carebear?" Kolson asked, amused. "Yep! Because she takes care of me and protects me from all the bad guys," Declan's head popped up and he repeated the words I once told him with a big happy smile on his face.

"That's cute. So since I'm not wanted here, I'll take my leave," Kolson directed his attention back to Sage. "It was nice to meet you, sorry for intruding," he continued. "Maybe another time but thank you for getting me out of that sticky situation," she effortlessly said. My anger was boiling to the surface.

Now he knew Declan existed. This is terrible. Not even Verrin knows about him.

"It wasn't a problem. Hopefully, I can get to know more about this little guy," he grinned, walking towards me. I stepped back, not wanting him any closer when Declan clapped his hands and reached for Kolson. My heart melted at the sight of him stretching his hands out to him.

"Well aren't you friendly," he realized and took my son from my arms. I stood there, not able to say anything. "You're so cute," Kolson awed. Declan surprised us all by grabbing Kolson's cheek and pulling them.

"Okay, that's enough," Quinton came to the rescue, taking Declan away from Kolson. I don't spare anyone else another glance, I couldn't let them realize how pissed I truly was over all of this.

"I'll put him back to bed," I mumbled and took Declan from Quinton before walking back to our room and shutting the door behind us. "Who's that momma?" Declan innocently asked, now jumping on the bed. He fell back down on the pillow and snuggled into the blanket. "That's mommy's friend, you won't be seeing him again," I assured him.

Deep down it was a lie and I didn't want to admit it. This was just the tip of the iceberg.

When I got Declan back to sleep, I stormed outside and got angrier when I saw Sage. "Why the fuck did you bring him here, Sage! You know we don't bring outsiders inside the apartment!" I practically scolded sage.

Her eyebrows furrowed but she stood off the chair, ready to defend herself. "Well fuck me for wanting to go against one of your stupid rules because you couldn't use a fucking condom, Siya! What is the big deal anyway? You're leaving soon and Kolson was harmless!" Sage didn't fail to argue back," he doesn't even seem like the person you guys told me he is."

"Because he's Declan's father!" I shouted back before I could stop the words from rolling off my tongue.

Shit.
