Kolson wasn't at the office all day. He did leave a bunch of work for me today but I couldn't complain, the paycheck was amazing. I got the work done and had lunch with my co-workers for the first time in a while.
I left a message for Quinton through Chelsea that if he can, he can pick up Declan from school and drop him off at the penthouse. After making sure he agreed, I returned to the penthouse and set up the fort in the middle of the living room, already waiting to play Tinkerbelle on the TV. His favorite movies change a lot and this week it's Tinkerbell.
When the bell rang, I bolted to open the door. My eyes lit up excitedly and Declan copied. "Momma!" Declan cheered, running into my chest and wrapping his tiny arms around me. "Hey buddy," I greeted, spinning him around before putting him back down on the ground. "Quin, uh thank you for this," I awkwardly said, finally being mature and facing him.
"Siya. Um...I'm sorry about what happened. I didn't mean any of it. I just blurted out things to hurt your feelings," he rambled off. In one stride, I pulled him into a tight hug. "It's okay. I understand it's unfair for me to depend on you guys so much but I promise once I leave Shaw Creations I can be the best image of Delcan's mother I can be," I revealed.
"You...you don't have to. Please don't take us away from Delcan time. We love the little guy," he frowned. "You won't. We'll visit all the time. All I'm saying is that I'll do my duties more often," I further explained and Quinton sighed.
"Okay Siya. Let's agree to disagree. I have to head home but I'll see you both tomorrow alright?" He checked. "Yes, of course," I confirmed and we said our goodbyes before him leaving. Declan took a bath and changed into something cozier before settling inside the fort with me.
Possibly three hours after, we were on the second thinker belle movie when Celia called me from downstairs. "He's here," she whispered into the phone. I gave her instructions to let me know when Kolson arrives. "Great! Come up and watch Declan while I deal with him. It should only take a couple of minutes," I let her know. She agreed as we planned and within a minute she was upstairs.
"I'll see you in a bit," I kissed Delcan's cheek. He was too taken up in the movie to give a care. When I made it to the lobby, Kolson was standing there, distracted by his phone. Once he heard my heels walking against the tiles he looked up with a smile and returned his phone into his pocket.
"You're in her penthouse?" He asked and I hesitantly nodded. "Huh...could have sworn I just saw her driving on the main road on my way here," he mumbled more to himself. My face paled, fuck. I wasn't expecting that one. "She's a fast driver. How about I show you the hall? I already got permission," I changed the topic quickly.
He nods his head and we walked off, him following behind me. "So this is the uh hall. There's already a platform for the stage, the minibar, and food area," I pointed out while he continued to look around the huge room. "The bathroom is easy access. Of course, we'd have to form an area for the music or whatever else you want but I'm sure there's space for everything including the tables and dance floors," I continued.
"This is actually perfect..." he mumbled and turned to me after a dead three minutes of him just looking around the place. "Of course I'd have to do some more rearranging because I think this is perfect for what I want. It's really nice. I'll take it, completely sold. When can I make the deal officially?" Kolson finally said and it felt like blocks lifted off my chest.
"Next week. I'll get the details for you tomorrow," I said. "Amazing, thank you for helping me out with this, Siya. You're brilliant," he thanked me and I smirked.
"Tell me something I don't know."
Kolson rolled his eyes and we ended the conversation there. I walked him back to the lobby and we went our separate ways from there. On my way back to the penthouse, I had a huge smile on my face. "What did he say? Do we have a deal?" Selia excitedly questioned, barely having patience for my answer when I entered the door. "Yes, we do but the deal is officially making next week," I revealed.
She squealed, hugging Declan tightly. "Come on buddy, we have to go home. We can finish the movies there," I suggested. He nods his head and took off the tv. "You owe me ice cream then," he warned me and I laughed.
"Of course, I do."

Sage and Declan were editing another YouTube video. It was much later, right when we were about to have dinner. Quinton left to pick up some things at the grocery and for Starbucks. Someone knocked on the front door and Chelsea answered it, thinking it was Quinton but she was completely wrong.
"Lucas! My God! It's really you!" Chelsea cheered, pulling him into a tight hug. My eyes widened and I walked to them. Lucas? It's really Lucas. "It's been so long," Lucas noted. Lucas looked very different, more mature, and honestly, he looked stressed out. "How are you? Rena told me...I'm so sorry it ended," I frowned, hugging him also. Something changed in his eyes and motion at the mention of Serena.
"She told you guys she cheated on me?" Lucas questioned and Chelsea and I were completely shocked. What? Serena would never cheat. Was it Alton? "No, no she didn't...We didn't know that..." I spoke, still unsure of what to say. "What did she tell you then?" He rephrased. Chelsea shot me a look, saying that I could tell him. "She basically said you guys couldn't handle the rough patch and the breakup was mutual," I revealed, very much confused.
"Well...we were going through a rough patch when she cheated. She said that the other guy made it easier for her and she couldn't resist. I was an ass, I wasted my time trying to fix us after she cheated since our final breakup went horrible," he surprised us. "Wow, that um doesn't sound like Serena," Chelsea mumbled, looking at me to see what I thought. "Yeah, for real it doesn't...especially since she should assume that you'd eventually tell us," I agreed.
"People change. I...I don't understand what happened but at the same time, I do. We both dealt with the new life of adulting with jobs and stuff differently. We grew apart," Lucas shrugged. Silence fell upon us, neither of us knowing what to say and confronting the truth.
I mean...Serena could be telling the truth. But for some reason, Lucas seemed more trustworthy. "Here's what! Quin and I were planning to all go to the club some time this month, how about you tag along for old times sake?" Chelsea positively offered, changing to eyes of excitement. This was new information, we haven't been to the club in a very long time and I was excited slightly. "Yeah sure. It's been a while," Lucas agreed.
"Awesome! I'll text you the details. Do you want to stay over for dinner?" She offered and I heard the door open. Sage and Declan walked out with silly smiles on their faces. "No, I'm sorry. I'm busy tonight. Actually, I'm meeting with someone at Verrin's company to discuss the catering for their upcoming gala," Lucas excitedly revealed and the smile on my face faltered.
Of fucking course.
