My outfit was cute but simple. Definitely my style. A black long sleeve top that stuck to my body, a high-waisted black and white skirt with knee-high boots, and a white coat to tie it all together.
I grabbed my Gucci handbag and belt before throwing on some accessories. Right on time, Alton walked into the apartment. I smiled at him, grabbing Declan since I'm sure he would want to tell him hello. "Uncle Alton!" Declan cheered. Alton stared adoringly at my son, taking him from my arms and spinning him in the air.
"You keep getting taller and taller," Alton mumbled with a smile. Declan blushed and wrapped his tiny arms around Alton's neck in a hug. Alton asked him a couple of questions about school and if he was being a good boy before turning his attention back to me. His eyes dipped down my body and he smirked, liking what he sees. "Ready to go?" Alton asked. I nodded and took back Declan.
"Don't miss me too much," Declan whispered in my ear. "I'll try," I replied and kissed his cheek before putting him back on the ground and he skipped his way back to Sage. She was editing her YouTube video while Declan helped her. I said our goodbyes to the rest of them before walking out with Alton. "So where are we doing for this date?" I asked. Alton smirked, ignoring my question and I huffed. We walked out of the complex, the blazing sun hitting my eyes which made us walk faster to his car.
When we got in I buckled up right away while Alton just stared at me. "Are you aware of how beautiful you look right now?" He asked, tilting his head. He reached for me, his thumb running over my red lipstick. I rolled my eyes and swat his hand away. I knew I looked hot, I didn't need a guy to tell me that. When I dress up, I make sure I feel my best. "Okay, okay. We're going to the mall to pick up something before I take you to our official date. No, I'm not going to spoil the surprise," he informed me while started the car.
"Okay," I agreed and we fell into a light conversation, mainly talking about music and catching up on the lost couple of weeks I blanked him. When we arrived at the mall, he parked at an easy access spot before we went inside.
We were barely into the mall for ten minutes when his phone rang. He answered it but I couldn't recognize what he was saying even if I tried. "I'm so sorry about this but excuse me for five minutes. I promise I'll be back, just stay here okay?" He panicked, already walking away from me. I mentally frowned but allowed him to leave, not like there was much of a choice.
I just stood there, using my phone as a distraction. It was only when I realized ten minutes had passed I decided to attempt to find him. He wasn't even answering his phone which got me worried but slightly pissed. I followed in the same direction with hopes of finding him.
I turned the corner only to halt in front of the person. She was dressed in all back, her outfit and accessories screaming wealth. I studied her for a second longer to realize she was frustrated while on a phone call. "I don't fricken care, Kolson! Get it done please!" She practically shouted and ended the call angrily. My eyes rounded at the mention of Kolson's name.
I was about to leave, not wanting bed to see me and I was happily avoiding her. However, that didn't go my way since her eyes met mine and her face went white, already knowing I heard that. "Siya! What a surprise," Nessara laughing it off, placing her phone back into her bag. I plastered a fake smile on my face, hating myself for allowing her to see me. "How much did you hear?" She worriedly asked. "Nothing, it's none of my business," I answered even though I heard a few words.
Relief washed over her. "So how have you been?" She changed the topic. "Fine. I'm really sorry but I have to use the bathroom and find my friend," I lied. I didn't need to use the bathroom but it was the only emergency excuse I could have thought of. "Oh, okay. Well, I'll see you around," she politely said before turning around and walking off. I distantly walked towards the bathroom, caught up in my thoughts about that phone call.
I pushed open the door and was thrust into reality. She was sitting on the countertop between the sinks, her leg positioned around his legs as they made out. His hands attached to her hips, sliding under her dress when I shut my eyes, stopping myself from seeing any more. I just had to be the one to interrupt them from whatever those two were planning on doing.
"Sorry, I'm so terribly sorry," My eyes shut immediately and I spun around, wanting to unsee everything. The last image replayed in my head. No fucking way. I spun around, facing the two red couple. My thoughts were right when I saw the two familiar faces properly. "Serena?" I blurted out. Her hair was messy but it was her after all. She looked embarrassed and ashamed with storms of guilt in her eyes. Her feet were back on the ground and she tried her best to fix her clothes back to normal.
"Siya, we can explain," Alton was the next to blurt out. My eyes snapped to his and I didn't know what to think or feel. It was obvious they thought they were alone before I walked in. One of the thoughts running through my head was that he was here, taking me on a date he begged for and then I found him making out with my best friend. "What the fuck is going on here?" I bluntly said. Serena winced at my harsh tone but I was pissed.
Lucas didn't deserve this.
"It isn't what it looks like okay? Were doing nothing wrong," Serena softly defended, her voice small but she tried. "Wrong? So cheating on Lucas isn't wrong?" I snapped. Her eyes softened with guilt and she looked away," Lucas and I broke up months ago, Si," she mumbled.
My heart dropped at the new information. Did they break up? My heart literally hurts because everyone thought they were endgame. And a couple of weeks ago, she said that they were okay but going through a bumpy road. "When we face-timed you said you were going to be fine," I reminded her and she frowned.
I didn't fail to notice when Alton rolled his eyes. "We didn't want to tell anyone because you guys wouldn't understand. We tried till we couldn't no more, it wasn't working out?" She rhetorically asked. My heart shattered for them, thinking about the position they were left in. "You could have told me, Rena. I wish I didn't find out like this," I frowned, slightly giving in. "I know, I know, it's just hard," she mumbled.
"Can we just get out of here, Siya? Nothing is wrong with us, we're just friends so how about we forget it?" Alton interrupted angrily. I stared dumbfounded at him, wondering how could I just go past what I walked into.
"Well, you two seem rather close to be just friends," I scoffed. The words just rolled off my tongue and I honestly wasn't intending to be so mean but it happened anyway. I was ready to leave again, making a note to talk to Serena more privately later on when Alton spoke and I froze at the last words."We're close enough for her to tell me that you're Dec's mother."
You're lying if you say you expected that:)
