Can We Forget?

( Dianna's P.O.V.)

" Come in," I said after sipping some tea.

" Your son almost got me and my friends killed." Glenn blandly spat as something metal hit the concrete.

" What do you mean?"

" He had a walker tied up, and he was screaming his head off."

" He wasn't like this with the last patrol. Would you like to take over them?"

" I wouldn't mind."

I knew Aiden was prone to lash out, but not this severely.

" Michone, please go get Aiden and bring him to my office." I radioed.

" Sure thing." Michone said back.

Then I looked up at Glenn. " You are the captain. You need to go out tomorrow, but you're going to have to go pretty far."

" You have a bigger map than this?"

" That cabinet behind you has a few we have of the surrounding area, taking you all the way to the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests."

" I'll see what I can do."

( Daryl's P.O.V.)

I needed to get away from that place. I know Rick means well, wanting to give us a roof over our heads, but these people arn't going to come around as easily as Rick wants to.

I noticed some squeal prints and I started to follow them, then rushed a bush after hearing a loud crack.

" Easy, Just me." Arron said as he came out from behind the bush.

" You can tell the difference between walkers and humans by sound?"

" It's not hard," Danny said as she came out from behind a tree. " People put there full weight onto it, walkers can't, being walking courses and all."

" Go home, I've got this." I told her turning around.

" I'm pregnant, not disabled Daryl."

" Just go, alright."

" You should. You could have a problem-"

" Maggie's coming up behind me." She said, cutting Arron off.

" Hold on a damn minute!" Maggie said, trying to catch her breath.

" Come on farmgirl, you gotta be used to this by now."

" That was a hell of a hike, how do you still have your breath?"

" Shh." I snapped, seeing a few lingering walkers.

" Stay." Maggie whispered, taking out her knife.

Danny rolled her eyes as Maggie and I took them down.

" Dianna said to catch up with you guys, go ahead and extend the land." Danny said as she took markers out of her backpack.

" Why the hell did she sent you and not Lucy?" I crocked.

" She signed up for teaching duty." Danny said as her jaw cracked, a nervous tic that I've seen and heard her do for the past few months.

" Stick close, and keep quiet." I said, looking at Arron.

" Lead the way." Arron whispered.

" See, I didn't die." Danny said sarcastically as we approached the gate.

" Go home. And stay inside." I snapped.

" Fucking ridiculous." She exhaled as she branched off from us.

" See you guys at the party." Maggie said jogging after Danny.

" She always like this?" Arron asked.

I turned and went across the street, leaving Arron under a street light.

I wasn't taking part in a fantasy world. These people want a normal life with dead corpses around every corner. What a joke.

" Daryl!" Arron called behind me.

" Go pretend with your friends!" I yelled as I neared the horse stables.

" Come have dinner with me and Eric."

" I said screw off!" I barked.

But he didn't go away.

I ended up eating dinner with them and finding a new hobby. Putting together my new motorcycle.
