The bushes aren't the best kind of cover but they're better than nothing. The person in the dark clothes doesn't catch them as they move past branches to get to the sidewalk. Hagakure grabs Mina's hand as she tries to step from the cover of the brush. Another villain rushes past them going to attack a nearby hero. He disappears around a street corner, a devilish grin across his face. The two girls release a sigh rushing across the street to hide in another bush away from the school.
Could there be more villains around? The question runs its track inside both their brains as they wait out the passing villains. There was no way to tell where they were headed. They all could have been taking the opportunity to steal from somewhere. Not all villains thrive on murder and assault. Some commit more petty crimes like theft. It wouldn't be smart to figure out what crime those who ran down the street were going to commit.
"The police station is a few blocks away," Mina whispers, looking at both ends of the street to search for anyone. They're empty.
Hagakure nods to her, using Mina for support down the street. The two stick nearer to the bushes in case more villains pass by. They move as fast as they can down the street with Hagakure's injured ankle. The pain hasn't gotten much better due to her failing to keep off of it. They try not to linger on the thoughts about their friends still stuck in the school grounds. There's no time to ponder on their safety so they can keep in mind their own. They make it a whole block and a half before being forced to stop by a looming force.
A nomu stalks around from a corner searching for new prey.
