A few weeks has gone by and things we're getting back to normal with Bria. She was doing great in school and her internship. Her relationship with her family and friends was good as usual.
"Dad do you really have to go? It's thanksgiving." Monse whines, watching her father load the truck.
"I think it's bull-"
"Watch it." Monty said, looking at his oldest daughter. "We need the extra money but I'll be back soon."
"Dad, I can help out with bills." Bria said, as he dad kissed her temple.
"I want you to focus on school. Same with you Monse." He said, placing a kiss on Monse's temple.
"Love you dad." The sisters said.
Monty smiles, "I don't know what I did to deserve you girls.
The sisters watch as their dad drove away for another long haul.
"I'm going to Ruby's."
"I'm coming too. I know Abuelita made Tres Leches." Bria said, walking across the street.
The sisters walk into the house to be greeted with smiles and hugs. Everyone sat at the table and ate dessert.
"Where's Mario? I was hoping to catch up with him." Bria asks, taking a bite of her cake.
"He went with new bougie girlfriend to Nevada." Ruby answers with a sly smile.
"Instead of coming home?" Monse asks.
"He's in the bone zone." Cesar said.
"True" the group of friends said, making Bria playfully roll her eyes and eat her cake.
"On that note, I'm gonna head home and finish my midterm project." Bria said, walking her plate into the kitchen. The group of friends laughed.
As Bria walks across the street, she notices a car pulling up. She quickly went on to the sidewalk. Last thing she wanted was a drive-by or a catcall session.
"Ayo Mamí" a familiar voice calls. Bria turns around and sees Oscar in his red whip.
"I've got a project Oscar." She said, walking up her steps. The engine turned off and Oscar got out of his car. "Oscar-"
"I want to see a real artist at work." He said, approaching her.
Bria smirks and opens her door. "You know the way to my room."
Oscar laid on the bed as Bria painted on her canvas. "You painting me like one of your French girls." He teases.
Bria laughs, "I guess you can say that." She said not loosing focus.
"Can i see it?"
Bria shakes her head. "Nope, I'm not done. You know how I feel about showing my artwork."
