Days passed, and nothing. Jeff was nowhere to be seen. You were sad. You eventually go back to school. It bothered you, the captain of the cheerleading team wouldn't climb down your ass. You were walking down the hall when she grabbed you.

-Well, look who it is. You think you can get away with punching me in the face!? Said Patricia, the captain of the cheerleading team.

-Leave me alone, let me go. You said, shaking your arm.

-You will pay for breaking my nose. She said before someone grabbed her.

-Ladies, behave, you're in school. Said your chemistry teacher.

You walked away. She and her group of friends kept bothering you for the rest of the day. You were already used to it. The name-calling, them throwing you spitballs, you name it. It kinda became the ordinary routine of your school life. But you had people that fought back for you, apparently you were quite popular yourself; even though you never talked to anyone. While Patricia kept bothering you, you could only think about Jeff. When are you coming back? You thought.

-Miss Hale, what are the first ten elements of the Periodic Table? Without looking. Your teacher asked.

-Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Beryllium, Boron, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluoride and Neon.

-Very good! But please, pay attention.

-Sorry, Mr. Valentine. You replied.

He continued with the class until the bell ringed.

-You can leave! He announced. Everyone walked out of the classroom, except you.

-Jonathan, can I talk to you? You asked your teacher.

-Of course! What is it? Are you okay? He replied.

-No, I can't get someone out of my thoughts. You said.

-Who? He asked.

-A guy... You blushed a little.

-Not me, I hope, after all, I am your teacher! He said, joking.

-No, I know him but at the same time I don't. I only got to see him a few times. There's something about him that fascinates me. I just can't stop thinking about him. You said.

-Sounds like someone's in love! Aw, you're finally blooming! I was getting worried. He teased you.

-Love? That can't be possible. You said.

-Why not? Bet you he's a nice fella. He said.

-Not even close. You replied.

-Listen, come to my classroom after school, we'll talk then. You have a class to attend to and I have a class to give, okay? Here's a slip for your tardiness. He said, looking at the other class walking in.

-Sure, and thanks. You said, heading to your next class.

After school, you went to Valentine's classroom.

-Okay, let's talk about this guy. His stomach started rumbling.

-Over a meal, I guess. You started laughing.

You went and grabbed a meal.

-Okay, about this guy, tell me more, missy, how did you meet him? He asked.

-On the internet, I guess, he is kinda famous. You replied, feeling stupid.

-Oh, really? What's he like? He asked.

-Well, I really don't know him well, so I can't quite describe him. You said.

-Why do you like him? He asked.

-That's the thing, I don't know. Maybe because we share the same fate, I guess. You said.

-Which is? He asked.

-None of your business. You replied, stuffing your mouth with food.

You can't really talk about this.

-I see. So he's a bad boy! I knew it! You look like the type of girl a bad boy would like. He said.

-You kidding me! I don't even have a nice body. God, you are weird! You said, almost choking on your food.

-That doesn't matter. Is just your personality. He said.

-I have a personality? You asked, while drinking your soda.

-Don't be a smartass, okay? If you like him, just tell him. He said, munching on his sandwich.

-Like hell I'll do that. You said.

-Too much of a chicken? He teased you.

-Are you even a teacher? You said.

-Hey, just because I'm a teacher doesn't mean I have to be serious. He said.

-How old are you, anyways? Fifteen? You said.

-Twenty six, miss. He started laughing.

-Just tell him, huh? You said.

-Yup, it should work. Just tell him how you feel. He said.

-And how come you're still single? You asked him.

-Screw you... He said, drinking his soda.

-Well, I should be getting home. Thanks for listening and for the meal, see you tomorrow at school. You said, grabbing your stuff.

-Any time! That what friends are for! He replied.

Friends, huh? You weren't really sure about that. He was nice and all, but you really didn't trust him that much.

Am I really in love? You thought to yourself. Can't be possible. Why would you like someone who tried to kill you, twice? Maybe, you did like him. He did make you feel alive. Now that he just disappeared, you feel empty. It was because you encountered him that you realized who you were. It was because of him that you were freed from your family. It was because of him that you remembered your past. It was because of him that you were having that conversation with Jonathan.

You walked home. Your neighbor brought you some food. You thanked him and went to your room. You laid there, eyes closed, waiting for Jeff. Nothing happened, like always.
