It was after lunch and 10 minutes into second last period. Cheryl was in Home ec with Jenn, she didnt want to go...her teacher wouldnt mind if she walked in late with a good reason. She liked her home ec teacher that way. Mrs Anderson was awesome, she'd had her since freshman year too. The toilets were quiet and so was the corridors. Cheryl walked out the cubicle and looked in the mirror. Her hair was over her face slightly, her mascara stained her cheeks and her perfect winged liner was gone and smudged under her eyes. Her eyes. Wow, they were red!
Believe or not, Cheryl was hurt the way Luke tried to cover up what he really wanted to say. He was basically calling her a backstabber, a bitch, a slut too probably. He didnt want to talk to her because she was getting it with Ashton behind their backs. Unbelievable. She sighed and sniffed, her blocked nose made a muffled sound. She got a few paper towels and ran some cold water onto them. She squeezed excess water out and patted them under her eyes to reduce the redness. Cleaning up the mascara and eyeliner, she was now eye makeup free.
Around her eyes were white from now the missing concealer. Shaking her head, staring at herself in the mirror she just wanted to go home. She couldnt go to class looking like that. She pulled the rest of her hair out her small clip and fixed it around her face so her face wasnt as noticable. She picked up one of her folders from the sink and opened the bathroom door and walked out opening the second door leading into the corridors. She looked around but no one was there. She sighed with relief and started walking to home ec. Lets home they werent cooking today.
Once she'd got to the classroom she knocked on the door before walking in. Mrs Anderson sat at her desk on the computer. People looked up slightly then turned back to their books. Thank goodness! Mrs Anderson smiled at her as she walked forward. "Cheryl...thought you were absent today" She told her. Cheryl shook her head and sniffed. "No...sorry i'm late, i was at guidence" She nodded quickly lying. "Okay, thats fine, well...we're just looking up some cake designs so some magazines and books are out....have a look and write down your ideas" She smiled.
Cheryl turned on her heels and walked towards her work station. The stations in home ec were like a hexagon shape, with a cooker and a sink. It was only her and Jenn and the station so obviously they paired up. Jenn sat tapping her pen slightly on her notebook squinting her eyes at Cheryl. "Hey, everything okay?" She asked worried. Cheryl nodded sitting down. "Chez...? have you been...?" "No!" Cheryl cut her off. "No...i was at guidence" She lied to her too. Jenn shrugged. "You would tell me if...."? "Yes! you know i would" Cheryl told her and Jenn nodded "OKay" She sighed
The bell went for last period and Jenn smiled at Cheryl. "See you usual place at home time" she nodded then walked out the class and Cheryl headed to geography. Lets be honest. Cheryl didnt want to go. She had Kassie, Michael and Luke to deal with in that class! Walking slowly to Mrs Murry's class she looked in to see Michael already sitting in her seat. She sighed and walked in. "Alright Chez?!" He smiled then his smile vanished. "Hey...you okay?" He asked. She nodded and sniffed. "Yes why would i be?" She asked. "Its just....your makeups gone." He shrugged.
She stood and looked over at Mrs Murry before Kassie walked in. "HI Cheryl!" She hugged her from behind slightly. Luke walked in behind her and darted his eyes to Cheryl as he walked towards her. "Kass can we swap seats today? thanks!" She smiled before walking to Kassie's seat. Kassie looked at Luke then back at Cheryl. "Sure....everything okay?" She asked sitting down beside Luke. Then Mrs Murry told them what Cheryl didnt want to hear!
"Okay class...well today we're going to continue with our project. So head into your pairs or groups and we can begin!" She grined walking behind her desk. Cheryl put her head down on the desk and sighed. "Chez...?" Michael asked touching her shoulder. "Im fine!" SHe put her head back up sighing. She swapped seats with Kassie again. Luke stared at her as she did so. "Stop staring at me!" She whispered sharply looking a head away from Luke's eyes. "Chez I'm sorry, i didnt mean..." He started but Cheryl cut him off with slamming her book on the desk lightly. "Just work! i'm not listening to your apologies anymore!" She looked at him with sad eyes.
Opening her notebook she then looked at his side of the desk. "Its Cheryl!" She told him before drawing the desk a look and writing in her book. All the way through geography Cheryl did her own work. Not once did she speak to Luke and she kept looking at the clock. Once the bell rang Cheryl collected her stuff and stood up. "Cheryl?!" Luke spoke. Holding her folder and books in her arms she walked away from the desk and turned to Kassie. "Kass...im heading home straigh away today. Tell the girls i'll see them tomorrow...." She spoke in disbelief and walked out the class leaving Luke standing staring at the door.
